Il existe une abondante littérature qui confirme le lien cyclique existant entre pauvreté et handicap. Cependant, bien que certaines études aient cherché à comprendre le lien entre pauvreté monétaire et invalidité et la manière dont le handicap recoupe d’autres facteurs influençant la pauvreté, la plupart n’indiquent pas comment cette relation s’influence, en particulier en raison de la disponibilité limitée des données de panel. En outre, peu de recherches ont été menées sur l’effet des subventions sociales et de l’emploi sur la (...) pauvreté monétaire, ainsi que sur la manière dont le handicap recoupe d’autres facteurs influant sur la pauvreté. Guidé par l’approche par les capacités, cet article a donc mis l’accent sur la dynamique de la relation entre handicap et deux aspects de la pauvreté, à savoir le revenu et l’emploi, qui sont essentiels à la réalisation des capacités. Les résultats montrent que les personnes handicapées en Afrique du Sud risquent davantage de vivre avec un faible revenu et de le rester avec le temps, mais que les subventions sociales servent à réduire la pauvreté liée au revenu. La pauvreté de revenu s’explique en partie par le fait que les personnes handicapées ont moins de chances d’être employées et que lorsqu’elles le sont, elles sont confrontées à un écart d’âge important. Le handicap recoupe également la race, le sexe et l’emplacement géographique pour influer sur la pauvreté monétaire de manière à avoir des incidences importantes sur l’élaboration des politiques et des programmes. The present article is trying to study the alliance of religion and philosophy, from Farabi's view, by citing to his works. In this regard, first, we analyzed the historical reasons for the need for philosophy, then we will introduce the Farabi's purposes for constitution of this alliance, through which the necessity of this alliance becomes clear. The main claim of the article is that Farabi correlates the two through two different ways. The first depends upon the historical procedure of the (...) emergence of the language. Accordingly, philosophy would be chronologically prior to religion. And in the second way, he explains the relation between the two, by considering their methodological distinctions, toward pedagogy. Technology transfer (TT) is a highly complex problem in development cooperation. Case studies that ITB has conducted in various projects focusing on automobile and steel production as well as in the machine tool sector indicate that the multi-dimensionality of know-how transfer is often and greatly underestimated during the planning and implementation of TTs from one industrial “culture” to another. Greater insight and knowledge of the problems associated with know-how transfer in TT projects can only be obtained from case studies in (...) which this generalised finding is subject to detailed investigation. BackgroundThe acceptance or practical application of the do-not-resuscitate order is substantially dependent on internal or personal factors; in a way that decision-making about this issue can be specific to each person. Moreover, most nurses feel morally and emotionally stressed and confused during the process decision-making regarding DNR order. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to evaluate nurses’ attitudes towards DNR order in a systematic review.MethodsThis critical survey was conducted using a systematic review protocol. To this end, the most (...) relevant articles published in domestic and foreign databases with no time limits until October 2018 were searched. The inclusion and exclusion criteria were articles on DNR order, studies about nurses’ attitudes, descriptive and analytical research papers, as well as those with download links and full texts. The given articles were also assessed in terms of their quality and their main results were extracted.ResultsOf the total number of 1663 articles searched in the process of systematic review to investigate nurses’ attitudes towards DNR order, 88 articles were included in the full-text review step and finally 10 articles, meeting the inclusion criteria, were found. Assessing the quality of articles included in this review showed that 8 articles, in general, were of good quality and 2 studies were characterized with moderate quality. The main factors associated with nurses’ attitudes towards DNR order were grouped into three categories of (1) nurses’ attitudes towards DNR order, (2) guidelines for DNR order, and (3) decision-making by patients and their families about DNR order. In most of the studies examined, nurses’ attitudes towards DNR order were reported positive.ConclusionIt seemed that nurses were willing to get involved in DNR order and each hospital was recommended to develop a written DNR policy directing individuals and avoiding their confusion in this respect. BackgroundMoral distress is one of the most important problems that nurses face in their care of patients. Various studies have reported the frequency and severity of moral distress in nurses. However, to date, a comprehensive study that shows the results of these research across the world was not found, therefore due to the importance of this issue, its role in the health of nurses and patients, and the lack of general statistics about it worldwide, the present study was conducted to (...) determine the frequency and severity of moral distress in nurses through a systematic review and meta-analysis.MethodsIn this review study, searching national and international databases of SID, MagIran, IranMedex, IranDoc, Google Scholar, Embase, ScienceDirect, Scopus, CINHAL, PubMed, and Web of Science between 2005 and February 2020 were extracted. The random-effects model was used for analysis, and the heterogeneity of studies with the I2 index was investigated. Data were analyzed using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis.ResultsThe frequency of moral distress in 9 articles with a sample size of 1576 persons was 1.7 ± 0.5 from, in 13 articles with a sample size of 1870 persons, 3.07 ± 0.1 from, in 6 articles with a sample size of 1316 persons, 3.2 ± 0.29 from, in 18 articles with a sample size of 1959 persons, 4.6 ± 0.518 from and in 35 articles with a sample size of 3718 persons, 81.1 ± 4.6 from, and the severity of moral distress in 4 articles with a sample size of 1116 persons, 1.7 ± 0.37 from, in 5 articles with a sample size of 1282 persons, 2.6 ± 0.28 from, in 5 articles with a sample size of 944 persons, 3.9 ± 0.63 from and in 8 articles with a sample size of 901 persons was 82.3 ± 5.4.ConclusionThe results of this study showed that the frequency and severity of moral distress in nurses are high and are a serious problem in nurses. Therefore, policymakers in this field should consider its role in the health of nurses and patients. (shrink)

El tema de los celos ha sido recurrente en las novelas europeas del cambio de siglo XIX al siglo XX. Senilità (1898) y Un amour de Swann, –la segunda parte de Du côté de chez Swann (1913)– comparten esta temática que se encuentra relacionada con la noción de enfermedad. Los celos en tanto enfermedad que contraen los protagonistas de estas novelas tienen implicancias directas en nuevas formas estéticas del género novelesco Fin-de-Siècle. Este trabajo analiza hermenéuticamente y desde una perspectiva comparada (...) la composición de la novela de los celos y la figura del celoso. Sostiene que dicha composición de la trama inclina a las novelas seleccionadas a tomar un estilo decadente que recupera la mímesis (en momentos en los que l’art pour l’art atenta contra ella). Esta recuperación de la mímesis es una creación estética que entabla un vínculo explícito con la praxis social a través del celoso burgués (de pequeña o alta burguesía) y sus acciones detectivescas que, sin embargo, no tienen ninguna finalidad orientada a la verdad o la moral. En consecuencia, al no obedecer a un propósito práctico, la novela del celoso concluye estéril. (shrink)

In this essay, I start from Foucault's last text, his "Life: Experience and Science." Speaking of Canguilhem, Foucault makes a distinction between "le vécu" (lived-experience) and "le vivant" (the living). I then examine this difference between "le vécu" (lived-experience) and "le vivant" (the living); that is, I examine the different logics, we might say, of immanence that each concept implies. To do this, I reconstruct the "critique" that Foucault presents of the concept of vécu in the ninth chapter of The (...) Order of Things (Les Mots et les choses): "Man and His Doubles." I try to show how this critique applies to the early Merleau-Ponty, the Merleau-Ponty of the Phenomenology of Perception. Then, I construct the positive logic of Foucault's relation of immanence by means of another text, which is contemporaneous with Les Mots et les choses: This is not a Pipe. The critique of the concept of vécu is based on the fact that the relationship in vécu is a mixture (un mélange) that closes "un écart infime." Conversely, Foucault's conception of the relationship in "le vivant" is one that dissociates and keeps "l'écart infime" open. At the end, I suggest, through three "landmarks," how Foucault's critique might be applied to the later Merleau-Ponty. This essay is Part I of a trilogy on Merleau-Ponty and Foucault. Part II concerns Merleau-Ponty's "mixturism," while Part III concerns "the blind spot" in Foucault. These three texts complete the work necessary to open the problem of memory and life. (shrink)

This article is the third part of a trilogy investigating the relation between Merleau-Ponty and Foucault. All three essays are inspired by Foucault’s diagnosis of our epoch in terms of biopower. They therefore aim at the creation of a new concept of life. In ‘Un Ecart Infime (Part III)’, I lay out Foucault’s analysis, from the first chapter of The Order of Things, of Velázquez’s painting, Las Meninas. By stressing what Foucault says about the ‘sagittal lines’ exiting the painting, one (...) can show that that there are three major phases in Foucault’s analysis: locating the blind spot; multiplying the invisibility; and the diffraction of the multiplicity into singularities. More generally, we can see that Foucault’s analysis of the painting concerns the informal space in auto-affection; in other words, it concerns the ‘blind spot’ in the mirror relation, in the ‘psyché’. The blind spot in the ‘soul’ - and the ambiguity in the French word psyché between mirror and soul - is why we can say that Foucault’s analysis concerns life: being blind, life must be conceived as informal and unmappable. I show in the conclusion that the inability of mapping and of seeing this space in fact allows for the increase of power. (shrink)

Mais cet écart n’est pas seulement la réalité de la vie ecclésiale, il en est aussi la chance ; car il fait entendre, au sein des (...) institutions ecclésiales, l’appel à vivre dans la confiance en Dieu plutôt que par leurs propres forces. Aussi la première tâche de la théologie pratique est-elle de mettre en évidence la réalité de cet écart et l’appel dont il est porteur.There is an unavoidable distance between the Christian observances and the God whom they try to serve ; human words and gestures can’t correctly witness to the perfect God. This gap is the very place of practical theology whose task is, of course, to help to shorten it. But this gap is not only the reality of church life, it’s also its good luck ; because it bears, within the churches, a call to live by faith rather than by their own strength. Merleau-Ponty’s radical reflection conceptualizes the transcendental and the empirical as intertwined, emerging only via an écart. I advance this concept of transcendental empirical écart by studying the problem of measurement in science, in both general and quantum mechanical contexts. Section one analyses scientific problems of measurement, focusing on issues of temporality, to show how measurement entails a transcendental that diverges with the empirical. Section two briefly interprets this result via Merleau-Ponty’s concept of depth, to indicate how measurement reveals (...) a temporality that is not an already given ground that would guarantee the transcendental in advance: temporality is instead ‘deep,’ itself engendering a divergence of transcendental and empirical operations that first allows for measurement and sense. Russell, quand, dans sa préface au Tractatus, il assigna à l'auteur l'intention d'établir les « conditions d'un langage logiquement parfait ». Prenant le contre-pied d'un Wittgenstein-I lancé à la poursuite d'un langage idéal, Wittgenstein-II aurait, dans Investigations philosophiques, opéré un retour au langage naturel et au sens commun.Il est sans doute possible d'exagérer la distance (...) qui sépare le Tractatus des Investigations philosophiques. Mais on ne saurait la nier. Quelques rétractations expresses enregistrées dans le second ouvrage nous en empêcheraient. 본 연구는 줄리앙의 "맞대면(face to face)" 관계에 함축된 "에캬르(ÉCART, 간극 또는 DIVIDE)" 개념을 분석하고, 그 무한 가능성을 문화의 다원화 관점에서 논구한다. 에캬르 는 특정 사유를 바깥으로부터 바라보면서 자기사유의 균열을 체험할 때 나타나는 실존적 탐색의 조건이다. 각 문화는 서로의 '사이(interspace)' 를 탐색함으로써, 친숙했던 자기세 계의 바깥에 설 수 있다. 또 그로부터 자신의 고착화된 사유틀에 어긋남을 자각하고 새로 운 쇄신으로 나아갈 수 있다. 이런 의미에서 '바깥에 서기(ex-ister)' 를 통한 에캬르의 형 성은 문화가 다원화될 수 있는 조건이 된다. 그러나 맞대면을 통한 문화의 (...) 변화 가능성은 에캬르의 열린 사태를 재고하게 한다. 외 부를 전제한 맞대면의 관계는 에캬르로 구축될 수 있는 것의 규정문제를 열어놓는다. 왜냐 하면 각 문화에 분란을 일으키는 바깥항의 성격을 미리 규정할 수 없기 때문이다. 따라서 본고는 사유의 바깥항을 탐색하는 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 에캬르의 다중적 가 능성과 그것의 즉각적 연계 가능성을 고찰하고, 이로부터 맞대면의 무한한 확장 가능성을 주장한다. 즉, 예상되는 개념이나 생각의 틀이 에캬르에서 무작위로 분기하는 사유, 그리 고 이로써 무한정하게 활성화되는 문화 간의 상호 간격은 우발적 마주침과 비결정적인 연 계를 통해서 무진장(無盡藏)하게 개발될 수 있다. The economic aspect of teachers's salaries.--Public school maintenance.

. Trans-National Corporations (TNCs) pay relatively high salaries to local people in host countries. TNCs assume that such employees will accept an employeeÇôemployer relationship similar to that which exists in North America, but the obligations and personal interests that such a relationship create often directly conflict with systems of obligation already established in the host country. When TNCs do business across the boundaries of systems of obligation, corporate salaries can be seen as a form of unethical bribery. In this paper, (...) the core case of business bribery is described consistent with the usual philosophical analysis of bribery, and the grounds for thinking bribery is unethical are made clear. The amount of a bribe is irrelevant to the ethical analysis. Bribery is distinguished from tips and grease on structural grounds. The concept of a system of obligation is defined, and examples given that show the variability of systems of obligation in host countries. Arguments are given to show that salaries paid by TNCs create obligations and personal interests which sometimes conflict with existing systems of obligation, and that such payments have the same structure as more traditional forms of bribery. The ethical issues of corporations crossing the boundaries of systems of obligations are discussed. (shrink)

Personality is a relatively regular habit of a person. It exerts a specific influence on personal behavior and the corresponding results. At the same time, personality can provide a certain degree of explanation for the differences among individuals in behavior and the related consequences. Economic differences are one of the discrepancies that exist among individuals. In order to explore the quantitative relationship between personality and individual income, this study takes 376 active employees of Chinese startups as the primary research objects. (...) Additionally, considering the simplification and convenience of the survey, the annual salary investigated by this study is the pre-tax income of active startup employees. It uses quantitative methods to analyze the relationship between their personality traits and annual salary. Unlike the measures used in previous studies, this study employed the HEXACO-60 Inventory created by Ashton and Lee to investigate employees’ personality traits. Compared to the Big Five model, HEXACO (Honesty-Humility, Emotionality, eXtraversion, Consciousness, Open to Experience, and Agreeableness) adds a new dimension to evaluate personality traits, called Honesty-Humility (H-H). H-H did not appear in previous studies related to personality and individual income. Therefore, there is no reference to the relationship between H-H and personal earnings. Considering that the content of H-H is highly consistent with the components of inter locus of control and the core spirit advocated by the Confucian culture, which influences Chinese people profoundly, this paper proposes a bold hypothesis, that is, H-H has a positive correlation with employees’ annual salaries. Meanwhile, other corresponding hypotheses for the correlation between the other personality traits in HEXACO and employees’ annual salaries are proposed. After that, the above hypotheses are tested with the help of correlation analysis. Then, the following conclusions can be quickly drawn. Consciousness, eXtraversion, Open to Experience, and Honesty-Humility positively correlate with employees’ annual salaries. In comparison, Emotionality and Agreeableness negatively correlate with employees’ annual salaries. (shrink)

Comment des femmes migrantes originaires des Comores, engagées dans une double activité professionnelle, à la fois comme salariées subalternes et commerçantes à la valise parviennent à articuler les temps sociaux, en particulier les temps les plus investis socialement, à savoir l’articulation travail salarié/famille/commerce? Selon quelles modalités gèrent-elles leurs « équations temporelles personnelles »? Ces femmes sont nombreuses à être concernées par les formes d’emploi atypiques entraînant une désynchronisation de leurs rythmes sociaux par rapport à ceux de leur entourage et de (...) la société en général. Cette précarité objective peut être de nature à rendre difficile l’articulation des temps sociaux. L’articulation de cette double temporalité de travail nécessite du reste de disposer de temps libre. Pour les salariées les plus précaires, la conduite de cette activité de commerce s’organise dans une double articulation avec leur activité salariale, puisque d’une part elles profitent de la « porosité » de leur temps de travail, liée à la précarité même de leur emploi et que, d’autre part, elles puisent dans les ressources économiques que cet emploi leur procure. Les femmes travaillant à temps plein, quant à elles, s’organisent en fonction de leurs jours de repos. (shrink)
