RESUMO Com base na noção de currículo como uma arena de embates discursivos, este artigo tem por objetivo principal analisar de que modo a Base Nacional Comum Curricular de Língua Portuguesa e Literaturas compreende os conceitos de fruição e de leitor-fruidor. Com efeito, é nossa intenção compreender como a ideia de leitura literária é proposta por esse documento oficial curricular. Para tanto, as habilidades e conteúdos indicados pela Base Nacional Comum Curricular foram analisados a partir de uma perspectiva metodológica interpretativista (...) e sob a perspectiva dialógica de análise do discurso desenvolvida pelo Círculo de Bakhtin. ABSTRACT Based on the notion of curriculum as an arena of discursive clashes, this paper aims at verifying how the Base Nacional Comum Curricular [Common Core] for Portuguese Language and Literature understands the concepts of fruition and reader-in-fruition. Indeed, it is our intention to understand the very idea of literary reading proposed by this official curriculum document. For this purpose, the skills and contents indicated by BNCC were analyzed from an interpretive research methodology view and under the dialogic perspective for discourse analysis developed by the Bakhtin Circle. El presente artículo aborda la relación entre ética y educación, tomando como referencia la teoría de los Derechos Humanos y la educación en valores. Para ello, resulta imprescindible comenzar con un acercamiento filosófico a la fundamentación, historia y críticas en torno a los DD.HH. Posteriormente, pasaremos a examinar la carga ética de la LOMLOE y de la asignatura de Educación en Valores Cívicos y Éticos, ya que creemos haber encontrado en ambas un marco idóneo para la aplicación de principios presentes (...) en la tradición filosófica, que contribuyen a la formación de ciudadanos conscientes de los derechos y deberes que les vinculan a su comunidad. O presente artigo objetiva, ao revisitar a obra Oratio de hominis dignitate composta pelo humanista renascentista Giovanni Pico Della Mirandola, um duplo intento: sustentar que as noções de dignidade e liberdade, presentes nessa obra, se distanciam do pensamento cristão tradicional, de modo crítico, justamente porque derivam de uma leitura filosófica da teologia cristã da criação; e mostrar que a conclusão a respeito da noção de liberdade apresentada por Sartre no pensamento contemporâneo pode ser encontrada de modo germinal, guardada as devidas (...) proporções, na leitura piquiana da criação. Para tanto, exporemos uma breve retomada do contexto histórico-filosófico que permitiu ao filósofo engendrar a Oratio bem como suas pretensões para com essa obra; falaremos, em um segundo momento, como o platonismo religioso de Marsílio Ficino, principal matriz teórica a partir do qual os conceitos de dignidade e de liberdade foram modulados, foi recebido e desenvolvido no pensamento de Pico; e como as influências e as rupturas com pensamento de Ficino e a leitura filosófica da teologia cristã da criação são importantes para recolocar os conceitos de dignidade e de liberdade, permitindo assim entrever, por meio deles, semelhanças com o pensamento satreano. In this paper I present Ernst Cassirer’s theory of perceptual objectivity as developed in a 1938 text entitled: “The Concept of Group and the Theory of Perception”. I explain this theory as part of the project of elucidation of objectivity which he began in 1910 with considerations on mathematics and empirical science, and which he later extended to the Cultural Sciences in the Philosophy of Symbolic Forms. The dominantidea of the project, which in the case of perception finds its empirical (...) manifestation in the results of the Gestalt theory on perceptual constancy, is that the goal of all knowledge consists in the search for and constitution of invariants. El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar críticamente alguno de los conceptos de soft law más difundidos en la literatura como paso previo necesario para formular una definición que sirva para mejorar nuestra comprensión sobre el soft law. Para ello, en primer lugar, afirmaré que los intentos de definición extensional de la expresión “soft law” tienen el problema de, bien ser inmanejablemente largas, bien terminar convirtiéndose en definiciones intensionales vagas. A continuación, presentaré dos definiciones de soft law ampliamente compartidas por (...) la literatura (Snyder y Senden). Posteriormente, dividiré dicha definición para su análisis crítico en tres partes: el soft law es un conjunto de reglas de conducta; el soft law no es jurídicamente vinculante; y el soft law puede producir efectos prácticos y jurídicos (estos últimos, solo indirectos). Concluiré sosteniendo que las propiedades identificadas por estas definiciones no sirven para caracterizar adecuadamente el soft law. (shrink)

Abstract.The United States today is faced with a crisis of the liberal system stemming from a shortage of resources and ideas. Liberalism assumes that there will always be enough resources to meet all needs and that politics consists of the struggle of interest groups for resources to meet their particular needs. Liberalism is wrong on both counts: there are not enough resources and there is a common good which includes all particular needs properly understood. We must now revise our ideas (...) and institutions in order to make the common good attainable. Various changes in ideas and institutions toward that end are suggested. (shrink)

This revised and expanded edition introduces important corrections throughout and expands Strauss’s restatement of his position in light of Kojève’s commentary to (...) bring it into conformity with the text as it was originally published in France. There is an unresolved conflict concerning the normative nature of desire. Some authors take rational desire to differ from rational belief in being a normatively unconstrained attitude. Others insist that rational desire seems plausibly subject to several consistency norms. This article argues that the correct analysis of this conflict of conative normativity leads us to acknowledge intrinsic and extrinsic reasons to desire. If sound, this point helps us to unveil a fundamental aspect of desire, namely, that we cannot desire at (...) will. Unlike belief, however, desire can unproblematically accommodate a notion of instrumental attitude. (shrink)

Diatoms are a species‐rich group of photosynthetic eukaryotes, with enormous ecological significance and great potential for biotechnology. During the last decade, diatoms have begun to be studied intensively using modern molecular techniques and the genomes of four diatoms have been wholly or partially sequenced. Although new insights into the biology and evolution of diatoms are accumulating rapidly due to the availability of reverse genetic tools, the full potential of these molecular biological approaches can only be fully realized if experimental control (...) of sexual crosses becomes firmly established and widely accessible to experimental biologists. Here we discuss the issue of choosing new models for diatom research, by taking into account the broader context of diatom mating systems and the place of sex in relation to the intricate cycle of cell size reduction and restitution that is characteristic of most diatoms. We illustrate the results of our efforts to select and develop experimental systems in diatoms, using species with typical life cycle attributes, which could be used as future model organisms to complement existing ones.
