No sooner had I written these incantational words than I hesitated a bit, as if sensing the skeptical smirks of those who believe that they alone are the true guardians of the legacy of our great contemporary Aleksei Fedorovich Losev-an original thinker who said some things that others could not at the watershed between two epochs. A person who was persecuted for the greater part of his life but was never broken, and who drank from the cup of Gulag "reforging" (...) under the "sun of Stalin's constitution," which proclaimed good for everyone but "especially unto them who are of the household of faith". In this analysis we start from the paradigm of Righteous Job's suffering, recapitulating the most important elements of the ordeal he went through: the loss of wealth, children and health. From the fact that suffering is an inescapable reality in human existence, the idea emerges that the suffering of the righteous Job is not an isolated case, but an archetypal one. For this reason, the assumption of Righteous Job becomes a guiding light. Since the focus of the research falls on (...) the relationship between asceticism and suffering, we have further addressed this relationship in regard to two great ascetics, St. Sophrony of Essex and St. Joseph the Hesychast. To St. Sophrony, suffering comes in the second age of the spiritual life, when pedagogical abandonment on the part of God occurs. The suffering caused by abandoning grace is a preparatory stage for reaching the spiritual feeling of God. St. Joseph does not speak of abandonment, but of the withdrawal of God's grace, which is in fact a reality similar to abandonment. Suffering is seen by St. Joseph as superior to asceticism, because it presupposes the acceptance of what is very uncomfortable for us, implies the martyric patience of temptations or diseases, with a greater cleansing effect on the needy. Patience involves the denial of one's own will, the crucifixion of selfishness and passions. In the final part, I made a brief phenomenological assessment of the reality of suffering from the perspective of Jean Luc Marion's thought. (shrink)

This approach focuses on a convergence point between father Stăniloae’s theology and Jean-Luc Marion’s phenomenology, as concerns Heidegger’s ontology. The German philosopher launches a challenge as to the role that the Embodiment of Logos actually plays in human existence. According to him, the Incarnation event is for man only a corrective to the ontic, while father Stăniloae and the French philosopher consider that we are facing a true ontological reconfiguration of human existence. This is because the One who has stepped (...) into the ontological field of the human being has the power to take man out of the being-toward-death paradigm and give him the opportunity to become being-toward-resurrection. Both father Stăniloae and Marion resort to areopagitic thinking, in which God is above the being, i.e. supra being, so He cannot be considered a being among others, even if He were considered a supreme being. At the same time, God is love because He is the Trinity of People and it is only through this reality that the human being gains more in terms of existence. (shrink)

En nuestra cultura actual, se promete igualdad en un sistema donde nadie es rechazado, ya que se supondría que todos tienen las mismas capacidades. El problema surge cuando, dejando de lado estas posturas superficiales enfocadas a tareas sencillas y básicas del intelecto, se toma consciencia de las diferencias que existen entre nosotros y se empieza a cuestionar esta idea tergiversada de una igualdad entre los ciudadanos.

La modernidad es este espacio ofrecido para el desarrollo de las nuevas formas de comunidad, donde los conocimientos, costumbres y tradiciones se vuelven populares al encontrarse a disposición de todos los que conforman el grupo. Esto da espacio a un mestizaje de la cultura que, con el transcurrir de las generaciones, se hará más uniforme. El proceso de modernización se presentó de manera gradual donde, por medio de la expansión del conocimiento y los sentimientos comunes, se consiguió llegar a contagiar (...) a gran parte de la población. Es escrito busca mostrar, de forma sencilla pero crítica, el proceso de globalización y lo que ella trae consigo, a la identidad del ser humano. (shrink)

En los tiempos modernos se ha avanzado bastante en temas médicos y de salud. Se están desarrollando cada vez más estas tecnologías en pro de alargar la esperanza de vida de los seres humanos. Pero ¿cuál es el propósito de vivir cada vez más tiempo? ¿es mejor vivir mucho tiempo, aunque en la vejez no se tenga plenitud? ¿es mejor vivir un tiempo corto, pero sin los estragos de las deficiencias que traen la edad y la enfermedad? y aunque no (...) se tenga que sufrir si vives muchos años ¿se necesita mucho tiempo para vivir una vida plena?Aquí trataremos de responder esas y otras preguntas. El problema será entonces enfocado al cómo es prudente vivir la vida y a la desvalorización de ésta al verse extendida cada vez más, pero ¿sería posible que la vida pierda parte de su valor, si cada vez tenemos más tiempo para posponer lo que queremos hacer mientras la tengamos? A primera vista podría parecer que no, porque el tener más tiempo nos facilita el hacer más cosas dentro de este paréntesis, que es el tiempo de vida. Dentro de esto se podría argumentar que el desarrollo humano será más completo si se tiene más tiempo y, consecuente de este, más posibilidades ¿pero estos argumentos serán del todo ciertos?Por otro lado, se puede decir que, si bien no todos buscaremos un desarrollo humano, dentro del paréntesis corto que es nuestra vida, no sería diferente si tuviéramos más tiempo. Principalmente porque esto no está presente en las metas de la mayoría, siendo estas muy cambiantes entre los miembros de una comunidad. Y aunque se dé el caso en que el individuo sea consciente de lo que sea que se esté buscando ¿algún día lo podrá encontrar? ¿le bastará con lograr ese objetivo que se propuso como fin para el sentido de su vida o buscará algo que sea imposible de alcanzar? si es verdad que buscamos algo que no podremos alcanzar mientras estemos vivos ¿en realidad lo que buscamos está más allá de nuestra vida terrenal y necesitamos, creer que en morir existe la respuesta? Este será el objetivo de nuestro trabajo, el buscar razones suficientes que fundamenten una respuesta a la pregunta de si es necesario el alargar nuestra vida. (shrink)

François-Xavier Amherdt La constellation sémantique autour de la notion d’arbitrage paraît paradoxale : d’un côté, le terme d’« arbitre » désigne celui ou celle qui, en sport par exemple, permet, par son impartialité et sa mise en oeuvre des lois du jeu, qu’une rencontre se déroule sans heurts. D’un autre, des décisions sont dites « arbitraires » précisément lorsqu’elles ne correspondent pas à l’observation des règles établies. À travers son expérience personnelle de 45 années d’arbitrage de football, l’auteur, prêtre diocésain (...) et professeur de théologie, propose une exégèse de la figure de Dieu comme « arbitre des nations » selon Isaïe, qui valorise la fonction arbitrale en tant que servante de la réconciliation, à condition d’échapper à tout arbitraire.
