Challenges to ART market: a Polish case.Anna Alichniewicz & Monika Michałowska - 2015 - Medicine, Health Care and Philosophy 18 (1):141-146.
In the paper we are analyzing the Polish ART market. It can be noticed that the lack of legal regulation has resulted in many discrepancies among the policies adopted by various ART agencies. The social acceptance of ART procedures available mostly in private clinics led to growing commercialization of the Polish ART market. Additionally, the language of gift and altruistic rhetoric that are overwhelmingly employed by ART agencies reveals hypocrisy of the Polish ART market.

The Marriage of Psychoanalytic Methodology with the Biosemiotic Agenda.Anna Aragno - 2012 - Biosemiotics 5 (2):247-267.
An overview of core phenomena and processes leading to Freud’s establishing his psycho-analytic method and early metatheoretical concepts is followed by the author’s revision of his topographical model into a seamless biosemiotic theory of mind and human communication. A careful methodological analysis of the semantic/referential scope; speech/listening processes, and semiotic features, of a dialogue designed to make the unconscious conscious, reveals an epistemological bridge between psychoanalytic methodology and the biosemiotic agenda within a unifying inter-penetrative paradigm.

(1 other version)Logos of Phenomenology and Phenomenology of the Logos. Book One.Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka (ed.) - 2005 - Dordrecht: Springer.
During its century-long unfolding, spreading in numerous directions, Husserlian phenomenology while loosening inner articulations, has nevertheless maintained a somewhat consistent profile. As we see in this collection, the numerous conceptions and theories advanced in the various phases of reinterpretations have remained identifiable with phenomenology. What conveys this consistency in virtue of which innumerable types of inquiry-scientific, social, artistic, literary – may consider themselves phenomenological? Is it not the quintessence of the phenomenological quest, namely our seeking to reach the very foundations (...)

Relationality and Attunement in Teaching Christian Ethics.Anna Abram - 2020 - Studies in Christian Ethics 33 (1):55-60.
I identify my priority in teaching Christian ethics as fostering relationality, both in individual and collective contexts. I argue that focusing on the idea of relationality enables us to explore connections that exist or should exist between individuals and groups. For me, fostering relationality involves building an intellectual understanding of moral relationality and embodying this understanding in practical situations. In order to contain the theme of this study, I focus on a specific aspect of relationality, namely the idea of attunement. (...)

Naming the Gods of Others in the Septuagint: Lexical Analysis and Historical-Religious Implications.Anna Angelini - 2019 - Kernos 32.
This paper discusses the representation of foreign gods as demons found in the Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible. It investigates the category of δαιμόνιον in some Septuagint texts against the background of the Hellenistic literature, and the relationship between the notion of demon and that of idol. In doing this, it shows the relevance of the Septuagint for a better understanding of religious notions emerging during the Hellenistic period. Moreover, focusing on some uses of εἴδωλον in the Pentateuch, the (...)

A Scottish Jacobin: John Oswald on Commerce and Citizenship.Anna Plassart - 2010 - Journal of the History of Ideas 71 (2):263-286.
John Oswald was a Scottish journalist and pamphleteer who gained fame in the 1790s for his scandalous lifestyle and democratic political views. He was considered by his British contemporaries as the incarnation of the crimes of Jacobinism. This article seeks to reassess Oswald’s place in the history of political thought by placing him within the context of his own Scottish background. Oswald’s radical views were neither directly inspired by his French revolutionary friends, nor typical of the English and Scottish radical (...)

    Phenomenology of Psychoanalytic Data. A Biosemiotic Framework.Anna Aragno - 2013 - Biosemiotics 6 (3):473-488.
In my continuing efforts to build a bridge between psychoanalytic findings and biosemiotics here, as in previous works, ‘biosemiotic’ refers to the hierarchy of meaning-forms (from biological to semiotic-organizations) underlying an updated psychoanalytic model of mind. Within this framework I present a broad range of bio-semiotic phenomena, processes, dynamics, defenses, and universal and unique internalized interpersonal patterns, that in psychoanalysis all commonly fall under the broad heading of the “Unconscious.” Reconceptualized as interpretive data within the purview of a psychoanalytic discourse-semantic (...)

Potere e limiti della conoscenza da Enrico di Gand a Enrico di Harclay.Anna Arezzo - 2013 - Quaestio 13:353-368.
Henry of Ghent can be considered the secular master of the thirteenth century who describes with a more emphasis and originality the relation between knowledge and power. Henry asserts (art. XIII, q. 3 of the Summa quaestionum ordinariarum; Quodlibet XII, q. 2) that even if Faith, as an instilled habit in us, is prior to any other form of knowledge, in order to grasp the truth of the Holy Scriptures, we need the lumen naturale. Nevertheless, in order to attain a (...)

Young and Aged Employees in the Russian Labour Market: Confrontation or Complementarity?Anna Markeeva & Sergey Barkov - 2021 - Postmodern Openings 12 (1):152-168.
This article presents an analysis of research results on two categories of workers and job candidates - the youngest and the oldest. These age group cohorts are under the greatest pressure in the Russian labour market: the greatest difficulties in getting a job, age discrimination, etc. Paradoxically, these groups show not a difference but rather a similarity in their value orientations. They often experience latent and obvious discrimination from HR managers. As a result, in many respects these groups tend to (...)

The aim of this article is to study the phenomenology of light, which plays a significant part in the aesthetics of Jon Fosse, the Norwegian writer who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2023. According to Jon Fosse, art is not only a way of perceiving the world around us but also a necessary condition for harmonious existence in it, which is most fully reflected in the work “The Other Name: Septology I–II,” first published in 2019. A World of Tropes?Anna-Sofia Maurin - 2010 - In Robrecht Vanderbeeken & Bart D'Hooghe, Worldviews, Science, and Us: Studies of Analytic Metaphysics. World Scientific Publishers.
The revisionary metaphysician seemingly faces a seriously unfortunate dilemma where she is forced to choose between the Scylla of too little regimentation and the Charbydes of too much. Many take this to be an impossible dilemma, and regard it as a reductio against the revisionary framework itself. In this paper, I argue that the dilemma is not necessarily impossible. To be justified, ontological theorising must be regimented just enough. To escape the dilemma, therefore, the revisionary metaphysician must, to be able (...)

The aim of this article is to show the argumentative component in the discourse of teachers. This is done on the basis of an analysis of the argumentative strategies used by teachers during the first class of a university course in order to increase their discourse efficiency. The analysis of the corpus studied shows that in such a session teachers use argumentative strategies in order to control the social distance which separates them from students. In this article, human–computer interaction is explored as a design-oriented practice nurturing the becoming of what is not-yet in future-oriented and speculative manners. Such approaches have evolved over time and now the field seems ready to take leaps targeting social and culturally infused contexts, such as those suggested by critical design, design things, adversarial design, making futures, pluriversal design and critical fabulations. It is in this respect that feminist theories, methods and imaginaries are rendered important. Feminist theory is in this (...)

This book conducts a critical investigation into everyday intercultural recognition and misrecognition in the domain of paid work, utilising social philosopher Axel Honneth’s recognition theory as its theoretical foundation. In so doing, it also reveals the sophistication and productivity of Honneth's recognition model for multiculturalism scholarship. Honneth and Everyday Intercultural Recognition is concerned with the redress of intercultural related injustice and, more widely, the effective integration of ethically and culturally diverse societies. Bona Anna analyses the everyday experiences of cross-cultural (...)
