    Kriza demokracije u globalnom medijapolisu.Dragan Calovic & Zoran Jevtovic - 2010 - Filozofska Istrazivanja 30 (4):605-615.

Distinctions of Being: Philosophical Approaches to Reality.Nikolaj Zunic (ed.) - 2012 - Washington, D.C.: American Maritain Association.
What is reality? What are the diverse ways of being? Can God be known from nature? These and other quintessentially metaphysical questions are addressed in the newest volume from the American Maritain Association, Distinctions of Being. Metaphysicsas conceived by Aristotle, extended by Thomas Aquinas, and given modern expression by prominent philosophers such as Jacques Maritaindeals principally with the question of being, the basis of reality. This work considers the necessary distinctions at the heart of metaphysics, the distinctions between nature and (...)

For an indeterministic ethics. The emptiness of the rule in dubio pro vita and life cessation decisions.Dragan Pavlovic, Christian Lehmann & Michael Wendt - 2009 - Philosophy, Ethics, and Humanities in Medicine 4:6-.
It is generally claimed that there exist exceptional circumstances when taking human life may be approved and when such actions may be justified on moral grounds. Precise guidelines in the medical field for making such decisions concerning patients who are terminally ill or have irreparable injuries incompatible with a bearable life, are difficult to establish. Recommendations that take the particular logical form of a rule, such as "in dubio pro vita", "when in doubt favour life") have been suggested and in (...)

    (1 other version)Povijesni status Hegelove filozofije unutar Heideggerove zamisli destrukcije.Dragan Prole - 2006 - Filozofska Istrazivanja 26 (1):115-131.

The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the hermeneutical method of Theodoret of Cyrus, who was one of the most important Biblical commentators and an influential theologian of the School of Antioch. This paper attempts to point out the fact that in the person of the Blessed Theodoret we find the first attempt of synthesis between the Antioch and Alexandria hermeneutical schools. In his hermeneutical work Theodoret attempted to overcome the contradictions existing up to that point and to follow (...)

Not so long ago, a well institutionalized predatory journal exposed itself by publishing a hoax article that blew the whistle for its devastating influence on the academic affairs of a small country. This paper puts that experiment in context, gives all the important details and analyzes the results. The experiment was inspired by well-known cases of scientific activism and is in line with recent efforts against predatory publishers. The paper presents the evidence in detail and uses it to analyze the (...)

    Probabilistic Logics with Independence and Confirmation.Dragan Doder & Zoran Ognjanović - 2017 - Studia Logica 105 (5):943-969.
The main goal of this work is to present the proof-theoretical and model-theoretical approaches to probabilistic logics which allow reasoning about independence and probabilistic support. We extend the existing formalisms [14] to obtain several variants of probabilistic logics by adding the operators for independence and confirmation to the syntax. We axiomatize these logics, provide corresponding semantics, prove that the axiomatizations are sound and strongly complete, and discuss decidability issues.

Multi-agent Logics for Reasoning About Higher-Order Upper and Lower Probabilities.Dragan Doder, Nenad Savić & Zoran Ognjanović - 2020 - Journal of Logic, Language and Information 29 (1):77-107.
We present a propositional and a first-order logic for reasoning about higher-order upper and lower probabilities. We provide sound and complete axiomatizations for the logics and we prove decidability in the propositional case. Furthermore, we show that the introduced logics generalize some existing probability logics.

Postmodern law and disorder: psychoanalytic semiotics, chaos, and juridic exegeses.Dragan Milovanovic - 1992 - Liverpool, U.K.: Deborah Charles Publications.
The postmodernist view, with its emphasis on the nature of discursive practices in constructing subjectivity and reality, has found many applications. This book develops a critically informed psychoanalytic semiotic view derived from Lacan, and applies it to the study of law. It also integrates some of the central concepts of chaos theory in describing how the legal text is constructed and how it may be read. Postmodern feminist analyses focusing on a possible ecriture feminine provide key insights, and the notion (...)

    Passivity and leveling Husserl, Heidegger and Hugo Ball.Dragan Prole - 2016 - Filozofija I Društvo 27 (1):225-236.
The first part of this paper explores the kinship in diagnosis of contemporaneity of Hugo Ball and Martin Heidegger. Both thinkers recognize leveling as an important trait of their age. In Ball?s terms, leveling is identified with the apocalyptic abolishment of humanity. That happens by equalizing all of human creation, which becomes possible only after the abolishment of the hierarchy of values, thanks to which it was previously possible to distinguish a work of art from an average work. With Heidegger, (...)

Tolerance within the Conceptual Framework of Ethical Relativism.Dragan Jakovljevic - 2007 - Prolegomena 6 (2):267-277.
This paper discusses conceptual relations between the position of relativism of values and the basic principle of tolerance, as well as both objections stated against the very conceptual framework – its wrong conclusion and insufficient grounding with regard to the presupposed readiness for tolerance. A detailed argumentation reveals that these objections are not appropriate for the actual conceptual structure of corresponding relativistic theories and their possible forms. In this way the relativistic position can be sustained.Im vorliegenden Aufsatz werden die begrifflichen (...)

The paper is a translation of an article by D. Prole which examines the difference and the resemblance of the phenomenological project and the early avant-garde movements. Responding to the crisis of the classical in the realms of aesthetics and strict philosophy both phenomena strive for authenticity, approaching it each in their own way: the Dadaists and the Expressionists fundamentally reject all the rationality and oppose academicism, while phenomenologists do not dispute the academic tone of philosophizing, even when they go (...)

    Lived Impossibility.Dragan Prole - 2024 - Filozofska Istrazivanja 44 (2):369-382.
The article examines the phenomenological notion of the beginning based on the author’s thesis that the transformation of the history of philosophy in the second half of the nineteenth century implies the introduction of personal, existential or life motives. Hence, the history of philosophy ceases to be valid as one and unique, but becomes multiple and heterogeneous. Edmund Husserl thus recognizes three fundamental flows. First, the history of failed attempts of philosophy to realize its telos. In the second place is (...)

Formal Logic vs. Philosophical Argument: Within the Stoic Tradition.Dragan Stoianovici - 2010 - Argumentation 24 (1):125-133.
The wider topic to which the content of this paper belongs is that of the relationship between formal logic and real argumentation. Of particular potential interest in this connection are held to be substantive arguments constructed by philosophers reputed equally as authorities in logical theory. A number of characteristics are tentatively indicated by the author as likely to be encountered in such arguments. The discussion centers afterwards, by way of specification, on a remarkable piece of argument quoted in Cicero’s dialog (...)

When teaching a novel mathematical concept, should we present learners with abstract or concrete examples? In this experiment, we conduct a critical replication and extension of a well‐known study that argued for the general advantage of abstract examples (Kaminski, Sloutsky, & Heckler, 2008a). We demonstrate that theoretically motivated yet minor modifications of the learning design put this argument in question. A key finding from this study is that participants who trained with improved concrete examples performed as well as, or better (...)

The paper attempts to situate the work of Fyodor Dostoevsky in the tradition of Russian existentialism, and to indicate his influence on the subsequent development of existentialism in its ontological or ethical guise. In fact, Dostoevsky may be seen as the originator of a tradition which will later on influence and be taken up, via Nietzsche and Shestov, by the figures like Emanuel Levinas, Albert Camus or Maurice Blanchot, all explicitly concerned with existentialist questions of debt, guilt or suicide.
