On Islamic practices and sufism related with Javanese philosophy.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the teachings of religious moderation contained in the Wawacan Babad Walangsungsang script. This research employs a qualitative method with philology as the main analysis of the data, namely manuscript inventory, script description, script transfer, and language translation. The script shows the story of Prince Walangsungsang’s journey in search of spirituality, specifically Islam. Interestingly, he learned his spirituality through many non-Muslim teachers until he finally met Sheik Datuk Kahfi in Bukit Amparan Jati. The (...) result of this study shows that upon his spiritual journey while gaining knowledge he experienced magical scenery. The conclusion is the willingness of prince Walangsungsang to learn knowledge and ajimat from Budhaprawa teachers, the openness and support of Budhaprawa teachers about the Prophet’s shari’a and the explanation of Sheikh Datuk Kahfi (Muslim) for the religious search conducted by Prince Walangsungsang shows the beauty of speech that is rich with nuances of religious moderation. Contribution: This research is important as a basic reference for religious moderation, which is rooted in the local wisdom of the Sundanese culture and tradition and can be adopted to spread those in our interaction with other religions. Adzan Pitu is one form of the legacy of Syarif Hidayatullah in spreading Islam in Cirebon. One of the ways in which Sunan Gunung Jati spread Islam is by building mosques. The construction of the Sang Cipta Rasa mosque aims to centre the spread of Islam in Cirebon and surrounding areas. A Mosque is symbolised not only as a place of worship but also as a place of studying Islam. This is what underlies the construction of the Sang Cipta Rasa (...) mosque by Syarif Hidayatullah which is now in the Kasepuhan palace complex in Cirebon. The noble goal is constrained by the evil intentions of the Mataram envoy who wished to thwart the construction of the mosque. Until today, when the People of Cirebon are affected by an epidemic such as measles, they have to perform Adzan Pitu to repel the outbreak and sacrifices as a condition to purify the spell that was spread by the envoy of Mataram. Adzan Pitu is a call to prayer with seven people at the same time. It is a form of mixing of Islamic and Hindu culture. Adzan Pitu has character values in it, which include religious values, hard work and social care. The values contained in Adzan Pitu are a reflection of Syarif Hidayatullah’s struggle in spreading Islam in Cirebon. In addition, these values are also a legacy of Sunan Gunung Jati in an effort to increase the value of character for the nation’s next generation.Contribution: This article contributes from a multidisplinary theological perspective to hermeneutical studies behind philosophies related to the Abrahamic religions as expressed in the Qur’an. Study on prophetic art practice in Islamic education in Indonesia.

Transcendence plays an important role in Paul Ricœur’s philosophical reflections. In the philosophy of the will that marks the beginning of his career, Transcendence serves to reconcile the conflictual relationship between human freedom and the inherent conditions that limit it and to offer liberation of man from his fault. The same theme persisted in his later works, in his exploration of the role of Transcendence for forgiveness in the book on memory, history and forgetting. However, Ricœur never systematically wrote this (...) role of Transcendence in a work because the third book of the trilogy of the philosophy of the will that was meant to elaborate on the role of Transcendence was never written. This provides an opportunity for Ricœur’s commentators to interpret the presence of Transcendence in Ricœur’s philosophy. This article argues that the hermeneutics of testimony is one of the gateways to understand Transcendence in Ricœur’s philosophy. Abstrak Transendensi memegang peranan penting di dalam refleksi filosofis Paul Ricœur. Di dalam filsafat kehendak yang menandai awal kariernya, Transendensi berperan untuk mendamaikan relasi konfliktual antara kebebasan manusia dan kondisi-kondisi absolut yang membatasinya dan lebih lagi untuk membebaskan manusia dari kesalahannya. Peran yang sama ditekankan Ricœur lagi di karya pada periode kematangan filosofisnya, yaitu peran Transendensi untuk pengampunan di buku tentang ingatan, sejarah dan pelupaan. Namun demikian, Ricœur tidak pernah menulis secara sistematis peran Transendensi ini dalam sebuah karya karena buku ketiga dari trilogi fillsafat kehendak yang dimaksudkan untuk mengurai peran Transendensi tidak pernah ditulisnya. Hal ini membuka peluang bagi para komentator Ricœur untuk menginterpretasi kehadiran Transendensi di dalam filsafat Ricœur. Artikel ini berargurmen bahwa hermeneutika kesaksian menjadi salah satu tempat keterbacaan Transendensi di dalam filsafat Ricœur. The COVID-19 pandemic has spread to the whole world, including Indonesia. People have made various efforts to overcome this outbreak. One of them is through local wisdom, such as in Cirebon-Indonesia. Cirebon people carry out the Azan Pitu ritual to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic that has spread in Cirebon. This study aims to explore the local knowledge system or local wisdom regarding Azan Pitu in overcoming the COVID-19 outbreak. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with observation (...) and in-depth interviews for collecting data. In the analysis process, this study uses Victor Turner’s ritual theory and Bronislaw Malinowski’s functional analysis theory. The study’s results found that people first performed the Azan Pitu ritual to overcome the outbreak of menjangan wulung during the Sunan Gunung Djati era. However, Cirebon people maintain it as a tradition to prevent disease outbreaks, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Azan Pitu ritual to ward off COVID-19 has changed form and function, but it does not diminish its essential meaning: the community’s efforts to expel COVID-19. China has already positioned as regional power that "challenges" a vis-a-vis the United States as a superpower that maintains a status-quo continuity in the Indo-Pacific hemisphere. This research used qualitative research method, data collected through interviews with informants to be able to dig up information so that accurate information can be obtained in accordance with the theme of this study. The selection of informants was determined using a purposive technique. While secondary data collected from various relevant documents. This research analyzes that The United States' foreign policy to stem the rise and expansion of China's impact in the Asia-Pacific region, harmonizes with concerns from several countries in the region for the rise of China with its foreign policy judged assertive. Setting out from the policy to stem the China influence, it can be said, the United States of America refers to its experience in the cold war as it stemming the expanding influence of the Soviet Union through the Containment Policy. Only this time has the United States been confronted with such vastly different conditions. These conditions that the United States is unable to "brace" for, so containment policy repetition through some of its implementation such as rebalance, free and open indo-pacific to offshore balancing still test its effectiveness.
