This paper discusses the philosophical issues pertaining to Kantian moral agency and artificial intelligence. Here, our objective is to offer a comprehensive analysis of Kantian ethics to elucidate the non-feasibility of Kantian machines. Meanwhile, the possibility of Kantian machines seems to contend with the genuine human Kantian agency. We argue that in machine morality, ‘duty’ should be performed with ‘freedom of will’ and ‘happiness’ because Kant narrated the human tendency of evaluating our ‘natural necessity’ through ‘happiness’ as the end. Lastly, (...) we argue that the Kantian ‘freedom of will’ and ‘faculty of choice’ do not belong to any deterministic model of ‘agency’ as these are sacrosanct systems. The conclusion narrates the non-feasibility of Kantian AI agents from the genuine Kantian ethical outset, offering a utility-based Kantian ethical performer instead. (shrink)

Humans have invented intelligent machinery to enhance their rational decision-making procedure, which is why it has been named ‘augmented intelligence’. The usage of artificial intelligence (AI) technology is increasing enormously with every passing year, and it is becoming a part of our daily life. We are using this technology not only as a tool to enhance our rationality but also heightening them as the autonomous ethical agent for our future society. Norbert Wiener envisaged ‘Cybernetics’ with a view of a brain-machine (...) interface to augment human beings' biological rationality. Being an autonomous ethical agent presupposes an ‘agency’ in moral decision-making procedure. According to agency's contemporary theories, AI robots might be entitled to some minimal rational agency. However, that minimal agency might not be adequate for a fully autonomous ethical agent's performance in the future. If we plan to implement them as an ethical agent for the future society, it will be difficult for us to judge their actual stand as a moral agent. It is well known that any kind of moral agency presupposes consciousness and mental representations, which cannot be articulated synthetically until today. We can only anticipate that this milestone will be achieved by AI scientists shortly, which will further help them triumph over ‘the problem of ethical agency in AI’. Philosophers are currently trying a probe of the pre-existing ethical theories to build a guidance framework for the AI robots and construct a tangible overview of artificial moral agency. Although, no unanimous solution is available yet. It will land up in another conflicting situation between biological, moral agency and autonomous ethical agency, which will leave us in a baffled state. Creating rational and ethical AI machines will be a fundamental future research problem for the AI field. This paper aims to investigate ‘the problem of moral agency in AI’ from a philosophical outset and hold a survey of the relevant philosophical discussions to find a resolution for the same. (shrink)

Impostor syndrome or Impostor phenomenon is a belief that a person thinks their success is due to luck or external factors, not their abilities. This psychological trait is present in certain groups like women. In this paper, we propose a neutrosophic trait measure to represent the psychological concept of the trait-anti trait using refined neutrosophic sets. This study analysed a group of 200 undergraduate students for impostor syndrome, perfectionism, introversion and self-esteem: after the COVID pandemic break in 2021. Data labelling (...) was carried out using these neutrosophic trait measures. Machine learning models like Support Vector Machine(SVM), K-nearest neighbour (K-NN), and random forest were used to model the data; SVM provided the best accuracy of 92.15%. (shrink)

The advent of the digital era has transformed marketing practices and reshaped consumer behaviour. Social media is a type of communication media that allows interactive marketing and has gained popularity among marketers due to its advantages over traditional communication channels. Brands can utilize interactive marketing on social media to engage in marketing endeavours such as product launches, communicating with both existing & potential consumers, and expanding their business networks. Brands are doing interactive marketing on social media to captivate the consumer's (...) interest and attention. Social media has sparked a movement of menstrual activism that aims to normalize and destigmatize menstruation, emphasizing that it is a natural bodily process that should not be hidden or avoided in discussions. While social media encourages open dialogue between menstrual brands & consumers, the stigma surrounding menstruation in many societies prevents people from freely discussing it. Hence, this paper aims to understand the key drivers of interactive marketing for menstrual brands on social media platforms, including factors such as interactive content, gratifications, interactive videos, personalized content, and social media influencers. Also, this paper analyzes the role of interactive marketing in consumer purchases of menstrual products and examines the consumer reactions towards the interactive marketing approaches adopted by menstrual brands on their social media channels. This study uses a quantitative approach and the data are collected through questionnaires from female social media users. The hypotheses of this study are analyzed using two-way ANOVA. The findings highlight the significance of interactive marketing on social media platforms for menstrual brands, shedding light on the factors that contribute to the success of interactive marketing approaches on social media channels. The results also show that interactive marketing methods on social media increase the sales of menstrual products among consumers. While numerous studies have explored the relationship between interactive marketing and social media, there is a noticeable gap in the existing literature when it comes to the specific intersection of interactive marketing on social media platforms and menstrual brands. In terms of managerial impact, this study emphasizes the potential for menstrual brands to employ interactive marketing strategies on social media platforms as a means to encourage increased consumer purchasing behaviour. One of the core debates concerning equity in the response to the threat of anthropogenic climate change is how the responsibility to reduce greenhouse gas emissions should be allocated, or, correspondingly, how the right to emit greenhouse gases should be allocated. Two alternative approaches that have been widely promoted are, first, to assign obligations to the industrialized countries on the basis of both their ability to pay and their responsibility for the majority of prior emissions, or, second, to assign emissions (...) rights on a equal per capita basis. Both these proposals ignore intra-national distributional equity. Instead, we develop a policy framework we call 'Greenhouse Development Rights' which allocates obligations to pay for climate policies on the basis of an individually quantified metric of capacity and responsibility . Crucially, the GDRs framework looks at the distribution of income within countries and treats people of equal wealth similarly, whatever country they live in. Thus even poor countries have obligations proportional to the size and wealth of their middle and upper classes, defined relative to a 'development threshold'. While this method nominally identifies the 'right to development' as applying to people, not countries, as a proposal for a treaty among sovereign nations, there is no obvious way to give legal meaning to that right. In this paper, then, we raise some of the philosophical and political questions that arise in trying to quantify capacity and responsibility and to use the 'right to development' as a principle for allocating costs.*. Posthumanism is one of the well-known and significant concepts in the present day. It impacted numerous contemporary fields like philosophy, literary theories, art, and culture for the last few decades. The movement has been concentrated around the technological development of present days due to industrial advancement in society and the current proliferated daily usage of technology. Posthumanism indicated a deconstruction of our radical conception of ‘human’, and it further shifts our societal value alignment system to a novel dimension. The majority (...) of our population is getting deeply involved in virtual reality in daily life. Sooner or later, we shall get a different conception of ‘biological human being’ through the advancement of artificial intelligence technology. If an automated artificial system could replace the human brain and repair any physical loss of our biological body, it will certainly become a journey towards immortality for scientists. However, we must analyze whether posthumanism will consider ‘hybrid human beings’ as moral agents, similar to biological humans. This is why, in the future, the relation between biological human beings and posthumans will play an active role in designing artificial moral agents. Whether the future posthumans would overpower biological humanity or both of them would work as peers to form a digital utopian society and create new dimensions of rationality is still a case of anticipation. Our aim in this paper is to critically analyze the authenticity of the posthuman cyborg as an agent, their relations with humans and the emergence of ‘AI ethics’. (shrink)

The present globalized era is a rapid changing era. To prove themselves, all are running, but running after what nobody knows. But in the event of proving they have to compromise with two values, that is, one is in personal value and other is work value. It is very difficult to keep a balance between the two. The present study tried to find out the same with a sample size of 262 executives from a public sector enterprise of India including (...) male & female and salaried & non salaried spouse. The data collected from the above sample through a tool with the objectives of finding out the difference of value profile between general life and work life of executives and prioritization of each value life. Result shows that there is no significant difference between two life values in the above organization. As far as gender differentiation is concerned female attach more value to general life value than work life value in comparison to the male executives. All the groups gave more importance to work value than general value. But in both the values they prioritize ‘meaningfulness’ component as an important one. So it can be inferred that executives are able to strike a balance between both the value system in work set up or the organization is giving such a culture where general life values are being taken care of properly.
