Systemic Social Innovation: Co-Creating a Future Where Humans and all Life Thrive.Raymond Fisk, Angie Fuessel, Christopher Laszlo, Patrick Struebi, Alessandro Valera & Carey Weiss - 2019 - Humanistic Management Journal 4 (2):191-214.
Society is at a crossroads. Interconnected systems, radical transparency, and rapidly increasing sophistication in skills, communications, and technologies provide a unique context for fostering social innovation at a planetary scale. We argue that unprecedented rates of systemic social change are possible for co-creating a future where humans and all life can thrive. Yet, this requires innovation in the conceptions, practice, teaching, and researching of social innovation itself to reimagine what it is and can be. As a multidisciplinary group of academics, (...)

The Field of Educational Administration in England.Helen M. Gunter - 2012 - British Journal of Educational Studies 60 (4):337-356.
Based on over twenty years of empirical and intellectual work about knowledge production in the field of educational administration, I examine the origins and development of the canon, methodologies and knowledge workers in England. I focus on the field as being primarily concerned with professional activity and how and why this was established from the 1960s, and the way knowledge workers have variously positioned themselves over time and in context. Using a case study of knowledge production at the time of (...)

In Defence of Wonder and Other Philosophical Reflections.Raymond Tallis - 2012 - Routledge.
In these lively and provocative essays, philosopher, polymath and all-round intellectual heavyweight, Raymond Tallis debunks commonplace truths, exposes woolly thinking and pulls the rug from beneath a wide range of commentator whether scientist, theologian, philosopher or pundit. Tallis takes to task much of contemporary science and philosophy, arguing that they are guilty of taking us down ever narrowing conduits of problem solving that only invite ever more complex responses and in doing so have lost sight of "wonder" - the (...)

Environmental education in the Federal Republic of Germany.Günter Eulefeld - 1995 - History of European Ideas 21 (1):17-29.
Environmental Education is broadly discussed in the Federal Republic of Germany. The different conceptions may be classified as the cognitive, the emotive, the cognitive-experiential and the system-critical model. In the article, the role of institutions in the educational system, dealing with EE, is described. Current activities in empirical research work and some findings on EE in German schools are reported.

    Of empty thoughts and blind intuitions Kant's answer to McDowell.Günter Zöller - 2010 - Trans/Form/Ação 33 (1):65-96.
This paper examines the relation between intuition and concept in Kant in light of John McDowell's neo-Kantian position that intuitions are concept-laden.2 The focus is on Kant's twofold pronouncement that thoughts without content are empty and that intuitions without concepts are blind. I show that intuitions as singular representations are not instances of passive data intake but the result of synthetic unification of the given manifold of the senses by the power of the imagination under the guidance of the understanding. philosophie, die sich als Disziplin rationaler Argumentation versteht, tut sich heutzutage mit Erzahlungen schwer, weil Erzahlen ein dezidiert von jeder formalen Logik abweichendes Konzept der Reprasentation darstellt.

Governing mechanistic studies to understand human biology.Raymond MacAllister & Kristin Veighey - 2012 - Research Ethics 8 (4):212-215.
Mechanistic studies may be defined as ‘an experiment, using an intervention in healthy subjects or patients, to better understand human biology and/or disease’. Such studies provide useful physiological insights into clinical conditions in humans and expand our knowledge of physiology in health and disease. Well-planned mechanistic studies are therefore a vital step in progressing drug discovery in humans. It is important in such studies that the rights and safety of research participants are preserved, while at the same time not allowing (...)
