En este trabajo se intenta elaborar una indagación epistemológica crítica que contribuya a enriquecer al debate sobre la posibilidad o imposibilidad de abordar los fenómenos de las ciencias sociales y humanísticas de una manera neutral y/o objetiva.. A partir de un enfoque centrado en la teoría post-estructuralista francesa y, más específicamente, en los aportes brindados por el psicoanálisis lacaniano, se concluirá que el psicoanálisis, en su vertiente lacaniana, y retomado de un modo distinto por otros autores, como Zizek, ha (...) mostrado de una manera consistente que este supuesto objetivismo no es más que un imposible. La realidad objetiva no puede ser más que una utopía, en tanto toda realidad es construida por un lenguaje, un orden simbólico, que es contingente y, por lo tanto, relativo. Sin caer en un mero relativismo de los actuales enfoques “posmodernos”, que no exista la Verdad con mayúscula no implica que no existan verdades a medias, “minoradas”, como las denomina Lacan en su obra.Palabras clave: Objetividad, neutralidad valorativa, pos-estructuralismo lacaniano, ciencia sociales y humanísticas.This work tries to elaborate a critical epistemological inquiry that enriches the debate about the possibility or impossibility of approaching social and human science phenomena in a neutral and/or objective way. La ciencia económica es una ciencia diversa, con innumerables escuelas y corrientes. En el presente texto se ordenan algunas de ellas tomando una serie de criterios epistemológicos de referencia. De esta forma se distingue en primer lugar entre economía estándar y economía política y, posteriormente dentro de esta última entre aproximaciones estructuralistas y post-estructuralistas. Dentro de este último grupo de reivindica la necesidad de construir una economía política desde el paradigma de la complejidad.

Casi de manera simultánea, en los comienzos del llamado post-estructuralismo los filósofos franceses Michel Foucault y Jean-François Lyotard se interesaron por la sofística. El primero mantuvo la clásica confrontación entre el pensamiento filosófico y el sofístico con vistas a afianzar su propio planteamiento sobre la cuestión de la “verdad”, mientras que el segundo autor intentó derribar las fronteras entre ambos saberes. Lo que estaba en juego en estas dos lecturas enfrentadas era una reflexión sobre los medios de que (...) dispone la filosofía para intervenir en el ámbito político. Para Foucault, es el decirle la verdad al político “parresiásticamente” lo que caracteriza al filósofo frente al taimado sofista y garantiza una influencia en un gobierno de la polis recto. En cambio Lyotard, a partir de su idea de la política “pagana”, creía necesario operar un giro sofístico sobre la filosofía para que ésta, desde una posición no exterior a la política, pueda suscitar transformaciones de otro modo imposibles. Este artículo analiza las lecturas que de la sofística ofrecieron los dos pensadores franceses, mostrando su originalidad y relevancia para el panorama filosófico contemporáneo. (shrink)

A diferencia de la gran mayoría de autores que han aplicado la teoría lacaniana a la disciplina filosófica en las últimas décadas, el empleo que Slavoj Žižek ha hecho de ella no debería enmarcarse dentro de los horizontes establecidos por el post-estructuralismo, la posmodernidad o la deconstrucción en tanto que ataques contra los grandes discursos filosóficos de la metafísica y la modernidad, sino como un intento, bastante conservador en el fondo, de volver a situar la Filosofía como disciplina (...) fundada en la Verdad. Para lograrlo Žižek reconceptualiza la Verdad a partir de una nueva reelaboración hegeliano-lacaniana del materialismo dialéctico que desarrolla los planteamientos del primer Althusser de un modo divergente al realizado por Badiou. Este artículo expone las principales aportaciones realizadas por el filósofo esloveno al materialismo dialéctico, considerándolas como un abandono del materialismo histórico y un retorno al idealismo absoluto de Hegel. Resumen El objetivo general del trabajo es analizar las influencias y recepciones del post-estructuralismo en las lecturas de Judith Butler y sólo algunas derivaciones en el pensamiento de Paul B. Preciado. A partir de este rastreo se pueden establecer las críticas de la teoría queer al feminismo a través de las imágenes y textualidades que propone el arte. La hipótesis general del trabajo supone que, a partir de la recepción del postestructuralismo en los análisis de Butler y Preciado, (...) se podría reconocer en la estética la capacidad crítica y política que las teorías de la identidad sexual pretenden lograr. A los efectos de identificar estos legados nos detendremos en reconocer los aportes de Jacques Derrida en la obra de estxs autorxs. Para finalizar dejamos planteadas algunas críticas que podrían advertir sobre los posibles límites en el plano de la estética de las teorías de género.The general objective of this article is to analyze the influence of post-structuralism in the thought of Judith Butler and Paul B. Preciado. It is argued that queer theory’s critique of feminism can be established through the images and textualities proposed by art; furthermore, on the basis of the influence of poststructuralism in Butler’s and Preciado’s analyses, one can recognize in aesthetics the critical and political capacity that theories of sexual identity intend to achieve. In order to identify these influences, we discuss the contributions of the ideas Jacques Derrida to the work of these authors. In conclusion, we raise some criticisms that warn of the possible limits of gender theories in the plane of aesthetics. (shrink)

El ensayo pretende reconstruir la lectura del pensamiento francés en las lecciones dictadas por Manfred Frank en su texto ¿Qué es el neoestructuralismo? Estas lecciones fueron claves para la recepción alemana del pensamiento francés surgido en los años 60. Las lecciones de Frank parecen mostrar algunas vías productivas para pensar la recepción alemana del posestructuralismo sin caer en el rechazo que llevó adelante el trabajo de Jürgen Habermas en El discurso filosófico de la modernidad. Nuestro análisis se centra en la (...) problemática de la subjetividad, tanto en las impugnaciones que realiza Frank, como también en aquellos puntos destacados que podría evidenciar el posestructuralismo. This article tries to elucidate the Deleuzian project of the reversal of Platonism in relation to that of Nietzsche. To this aim, I have made a predominantly historiographic sketch of the question in both authors. In the case of Nietzsche, I inquired about both the relationship that the reversal of Platonism presents in his philosophy with the problem of nihilism and the evolution that the topic undergoes throughout his vast intellectual production, until it reaches its final formulation. With regard to (...) Deleuze, I offer a broad overview of his work aimed at tracing the subject, from his interpretation of the Nietzschean formulation, as opposed to that of Heidegger, to the meticulous way in which it fits into his own philosophy as a shift of the essence in favour of the event as a source of singularities. Postmodern thought has focused itself on the critique of modern epistemology that was founded on a clear distinction between the knowing subject and the object of knowledge. For postmodern thought such a distinction is non-existent or dubious at best. Postmodernism has carried to its logical conclusion the postulates of structuralism; therefore, for postmodern thought there is no general intrinsic meaning in a fact of thing, but there are only particular ways for attributing meaning to such facts and things. Aunque fueron muchos los intentos en la modernidad de superar el dualismo cuerpo y mente, las teorías filosóficas del lenguaje en muchos casos lo reintrodujeron de manera sutil pero no menos eficaz. El artículo discute varios teoremas para pensar la materialidad del signo y muestra la preponderancia, desde Kierkegaard hasta el estructuralismo post-Saussuriano, de pensar la materialización como algo necesario, pero arbitrario en su modalidad. En esta concepción, el cuerpo del lenguaje no es solamente aquello que se puede (...) sino aquello que se debe poder modificar: la corporalidad de la expresión es lo que debe poder ser absolutamente sustituible para conservar la unidad del sentido. Sin embargo, en muchos casos, el sentido emerge precisamente de la singularidad insustituible, de la configuración de los signos en la poesía o de la gestualidad inimitable del actor. El articulo argumenta en favor de introducir, en esta discusión, la distinción fenomenológica entre Kó'rper y Leib, que - como Husserl sugirió - también puede pueden pensarse según la diferencia entre lo representable y lo irrepresentable, entre lo que no tiene papel constituyente y que desde luego puede ser sustituido, y lo que permite ser representado por otro porque es insustituible. Although in the modern age there were plenty of attempts to overcome the mind-body dualism, its philosophical theories of languages reintroduced it in a subtle but not less effective way. In this article several theorems to think on the materiality of the sign are discussed, and the preponderance, from Kierkegaard to the post-Saussurean structuralism, of thinking the materialization as something necessary but arbitrary in its modality, is shown. The body of language under this understanding is not only that which can be modified, but that which must be modifiable: the corporeality of the utterance must be substitutable in order to preserve the unit of meaning. Nevertheless, in many cases, the meaning comes precisely from the unsubstitutable singularity, from the configuration of the signs in poetry or from the inimitable actor's gestures. The article argues for introducing in this discussion the phenomenological distinction between Kórper and Leib, which - as Husserl suggested - may also be thought from the difference between the representable and the irrepresentable, between what does not have a constituent role and hence can be substituted, and what allows to be represented by another because it is unsubstitutable. The author examines various strains in the wider historical tradition of Christian ethical thought that have obscured the moral excellence of mutual love. This examination presupposes that the communion between God, self, and other(s) is the highest ideal of Christian love. Moreover, several conclusions are offered that relate this examination to the writings of Gene Outka and other contemporary ethicists concerned with the meaning of love.

To ask the question "Why does anything at all exist?" is equivalent to asking "What is the explanation of why anything at all exists." Thus the question presupposes that there is an explanation, known or unknown or unknowable, of why anything at all exists.

New-wave psychoneural reduction, a la Bickle and Churchland, conflicts with the way certain adaptation properties are individuated according to evolutionary biology. Such properties cannot be reduced to physical properties of the token items that have the adaptation properties. The New Wave may entail a form of individualism inconsistent with evolutionary biology. All of this causes serious trouble as well for Jaegwon Kim's thesis of the Causal Individuation of Kinds, his Weak Supervenience thesis, Alexander's Dictum, his synchronicity thesis that all psychological (...) kinds supervene on the contemporaneous physical states of the organism, Correlation Thesis, and indeed his Restricted Correlation Thesis. All these theses are strongly individualist, in the sense of entailing that ALL a thing's properties are determined by its own physical properties and relations, contrary to many properties in biology and psychology. Also provides a general strategy for naturalizing objective moral normativity which is likewise proof against the usual-suspect objections.

Outlines a conceptual argument against the Principle of Sufficient reason. The argument is presented in detail in earlier work, and is based on deductive inferences from PSR's own concept of explanation. The argument shows that not everything can have an explanation of the sort claimed by PSR. So far from being a presupposition of reason itself, as some think, PSR can be refuted by reason, arguing only from PSR's own concept of explanation. The terminal philosopher thinks there must always be beliefs or other posits that are terminal: they can neither be justified nor criticized by inference from anything further. In any context whatever, reason giving must at some point leave off - not for practical reasons, such as lack of time, energy or resources, but in principle.
