На відміну від Ван Гога, усі дороги якого ведуть у нікуди, ми віримо, що спроможні обрати ту саму – нашу дорогу у світле й заможне майбутнє, й усі наші зусилля не будуть марними.

In the theory and philosophy of law, war is often considered as a legal remedy. For example, according to H. Kelsen, war is a sanction of international law. These sanctions, like sanctions in national law, consist in the forcible deprivation of life, liberty, and other goods, notably of economic value. In war, human beings are killed, maimed, imprisoned, and national or private property is destroyed. By way of reprisals, national or private property is confiscated and other legal rights are infringed. (...) At the same time, it seems clear that the human experience in conditions such as suffering, pain, and death, has nothing in common with law. The decision of a sovereign state to start a war means a rejection to recognize both the norm of law as well as the generalized Other. Then, despite all the norms and guarantees of international law, the living experience of human beings during war is an experience of lawlessness, because they are harmed and at the same time not even recognized as legal subjects. Therefore, in order to answer the question about whether law is possible during war, we have to clarify in what way law exists outside the traditional norms of law, whether positive or natural. У статті досліджується концепція гібридного менеджменту з точки зору соціально-філософських підходів, які забезпечують не тільки ефективність, але й моральну відповідальність управлінських практик. З огляду на сучасні виклики, такі як війна, глобальні кризи, екологічні та соціальні проблеми, автор акцентує увагу на необхідності переосмислення традиційних управлінських стратегій і впровадження нових підходів, що інтегрують філософські та етичні принципи. Стаття аналізує прагматистський підхід, що базується на ідеях Вільяма Джеймса та Джона Дьюї, які підкреслюють важливість емпіричного досвіду та самоаналізу у процесі прийняття рішень. Використання прагматизму (...) дозволяє створювати гнучкі моделі управління, що сприяють швидкій адаптації до змінних умов і підтримують інновації. У дослідженні розглядається також концепція моральної рефлексії, яка додає етичний вимір до управлінських стратегій, роблячи їх більш стійкими та соціально значущими. Автори, такі як Пейман Таджаллі та Стівен Сегал, пропонують етичну рамку, засновану на ідеях Еммануеля Левінаса про безмежну відповідальність, що дозволяє організаціям поєднувати особисту відповідальність та соціальний контекст у прийнятті рішень. Це підхід, який створює основу для збалансованих управлінських практик, що відповідають як внутрішнім, так і зовнішнім викликам. У статті також розглядаються ідеї Ллойда Санделендса про людину як головний елемент управління, що є важливою противагою суто економічним підходам, і дослідження етичної поведінки менеджерів, проведене Д. Дж. Фріцше та Г. Бекером, яке підкреслює стабільність етичних принципів у різних видах кризових ситуацій. У підсумку автор робить висновок, що гібридний менеджмент повинен орієнтуватися на соціально-філософські елементи, що допомагають створювати стратегії, які поєднують ефективність та етику. Це необхідно для побудови стійких організацій, здатних відповідати сучасним викликам і забезпечувати довгостроковий розвиток через інтеграцію моральної рефлексії, прагматизму та розуміння соціальної відповідальності. The author argues that the philosophical and cultural origins of analytic philosophy can be determined through its connection with the Enlightenment, but this thesis should not be accepted without reservations. The position of analytic philosophy in the context of scientism is not absolute. In particular, Moore is in "open conflict" with scientism and "all forms of skepticism." According to the author, this conflict is a consequence of the Enlightenment roots of analytic philosophy. The article compares the strategies of antiskeptic polemics (...) of Thomas Reed and George Edward Moore, in particular, their attitude to common sense and criteria of truth. The conclusion of this comparison is the thesis that the crisis of the philosophy of common sense is inevitable both in case of its failure and in case of complete success. The author claims that the attempt to combine philosophy and common sense can ultimately lead to the self-destruction of philosophy. (shrink)

Розгляд поняття уваги в межах вейлівської концепції укорінення має важливе значення з двох причин: по-перше, це поняття дозволяє концептуалізувати проблематику свідчення у філософії С. Вейль; по-друге, увага є ключем для розкриття вейлівської ідеї святості, що єднає в собі полюс особистого вчинку з полюсом його явленості в певному суспільному контексті. Ідея втіленості правди у світлі укорінення, а також полеміка з Ж. Маритеном щодо природи святості розкривають практичне значення уваги у філософії С. Вейль.

У статті йдеться про кризу особистого судження, що в ній Г. Арендт побачила головний виклик для суспільства, яке дотримується демократичних принципів. Якими можуть бути механізми нового опанування цієї здатності в пострадянському суспільстві? На думку автора статті, ключовою є проблематика прощення та обіцянки, розглянута в рамках філософії дарунку.

Статтю присвячено аналізу маловивченого аспекту здійснення підбору та підготовки кадрів для органів прокуратури в 1920-ті рр. На основі широкого кола джерел автором висвітлені кадрові проблеми відомства та показані основні заходи влади з виправлення ситуації й підвищення рівня професіоналізму співробітників. Розкрито причини конфліктів між прокуратурою й місцевою владою та відмічено вплив партії на кадрову політику відомства.

The main purpose of Christian social teaching is to form a person's Christian outlook, to provide the Christian with answers to the questions of the present and specific recommendations regarding the model of behavior in different situations in life. In its turn, social doctrine expresses a confessional perspective on the problems of modern life faced by believers. This view is formulated in special documents of denominations, the totality of which constitutes the "social doctrine of the Church".

Management scholars have paid close attention to the construct of organizational or corporate reputation, particularly in the applied business ethics and corporate social responsibility fields. Extant research demonstrates that CR is one of the key mediators between CSR and important organizational outcomes, which ultimately improve organizational performance. Yet, hitherto the research focused on CR construct has been plagued by multiple definitions, conflicting conceptualizations, and unclear operationalizations. The purpose of this article is to provide theoretical ground for positioning of CR as (...) an assessment construct that is modeled as a second-order factor affecting individual first-order dimensions, and to provide methodological and empirical support toward such conceptualization. We assert that intangible, socially complex, and causally ambiguous CR can be accurately estimated through its individual measurable dimensions. Using survey data from Peru, we empirically test the hypothesized second-order reflective model within a hierarchy of nested and non-nested models, and compare its model fit and predictive power with alternative conceptualizations. Modeling CR as a second-order reflective construct relies on a set of theoretical propositions and yields several methodological advantages, including strong conceptual interpretability and parsimony when tested within a nomological context. We explicitly demonstrate positive organizational outcomes of CR: customer trust, corporate identification, in-role behavior, and extra-role behavior. Then, we demonstrate that the shorter scales of CR can be used as a good proxy for the full construct measure. The paper concludes by highlighting theoretical insights, and methodological and managerial implications of the findings. (shrink)

Actuality of theme. On the brink of the 1950s-1960s, the Soviet state launched a massive anti-religious campaign. The attitude towards the Roman Catholics in this period is a classic example of the hard policy of the Soviet and party leadership in relation to religious associations. However, this pressure was unequal in relation to different denominations. The position of the authorities was determined by the task of preventing the integration of the religious and national life of national minorities in Ukraine. Under (...) conditions where religion remained for them, perhaps the only form of manifestation of national feelings, such a policy was frankly anti-national. This period is very important for researchers, because relations between the state and the Roman Catholic associations in the 1960's explain a lot of peculiarities of the development of these communities in Ukrainian society in our time. Within the corporate social responsibility research field, the construct of organizational reputation has been extensively scrutinized as a crucial mediator between the firm CSR engagement and valuable organizational outcomes. Yet, the existing literature on organizational reputation suffers from substantive divergence between the studies in terms of defining the construct’s domain, dimensional structure, and the methodological operationalization. The current study aims to refine the organizational reputation construct by reconciling varying theoretical perspectives within the construct’s definitional landscape, suggesting a holistic but parsimonious (...) triadic view on the organizational reputation construct for customer stakeholders. Based on commonly used extant organizational reputation measures, we theoretically and empirically develop the customer-based triadic organizational reputation scale and position it as a superordinate multidimensional construct influencing three distinct first-order dimensions: product and service efficacy, societal ethicality, and market prominence. Results show that the proposed triadic conceptualization of organizational reputation is theoretically defensible, and the resulting scale is cross-culturally generalizable and performs well compared with existing, longer measures of organizational reputation. Together, the organizational reputation model developed here suggests that, for cognitive economy and functional efficiency, customers will access a second-order reflective model of organizational reputation as the default implicit attitude, which in turn will activate reflections of the implicit attitude in the form of first-order dimensions. The publication was carried out on the initiative and assistance of the Project “Green Decisions of Business - Unity for Sustainable Development”, which is implemented by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Organization of Employers, in partnership with the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, the Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency with the support of the Program for the Promotion of Green Modernization of the Ukrainian Economy, implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH. The monograph is devoted to the study of various aspects of the (...) development of the "green" economy both globally and locally. The theoretical foundations of the development of the "green" economy, the features of the functioning of the markets for "green" goods and services, the world experience in the development of the "green" economy, the prospects for the development of the "green" economy at the local and regional level are substantiated. Oleksiy Panych put forward two theses: (1) irrelevance of the concept of national philosophical tradition in the analysis of modern philosophical processes; (2) impossibility of building such a tradition in contemporary Ukraine, since this tradition is incompatible with the “internal polyglossiaˮ essential for Ukrainian philosophizing. I prove that the essential features of the national philosophical tradition highlighted by O. Panych do not take into account contemporary clarifications of this concept. Developing Serhiy Yosypenkoʼs idea about the institutional level of this (...) tradition, I propose to understand it as a two-level social mechanism of self-reproduction of the national philosophical community within the limits of modern philosophical institutions. At the first level, this tradition appears as a result of the purely civil self-identification of each individual philosopher (it ensures the very existence and stability of the tradition), at the second one, multiple reflections are carried out regarding what this tradition is and where it comes from. The products of these levels do not reduce to each other and perform separate functions. This approach allows solving a number of complex theoretical problems, in particular the problem of the incompleteness of the criteria for defining the national philosophical tradition. (shrink)
