El presente artículo analiza la teoría del conocimiento de Nāgārjuna tal y como aparece en su obra Vigrahavyavartanī , un tratado sánscrito del siglo segundo cuya edición crítica se debe a E. H. Johnston y A. Kunst. Se describen las principales ediciones críticas y traducciones de la obra a lenguas europeas y se analizan los contenidos y temas de la misma. Mostrando las diferentes estrategias críticas hacia la escuela nyāya y su distinción entre los medios de conocimiento ( pramāņa ) (...) y los objetos de conocimiento ( prameya ). Explorando las relaciones entre la crítica nagarjuniana de los medios de conocimiento de la escuela nyāya y el concepto mādhyamika de ironía. (shrink)

En este artículo, presentamos y analizamos críticamente el enfoque tecnicista en teoría de los medios. Abordamos una de sus propuestas más radicales, a saber: la eliminación de la dimensión del sentido y de las instancias agenciales humanas en favor de la dimensión de la información y de sistemas automatizados de procesamiento de señales y datos. En nuestro análisis consideramos las dificultades del gesto eliminacionista y ofrecemos un enfoque alternativo que atienda a los aspectos técnico-materiales, pero sin eliminar la dimensión del (...) sentido. Se trata de un enfoque basado en los planteos derridianos sobre la huella. Examinaremos la mediación de la huella con vistas a tres aspectos decisivos: la conformación de relaciones lógicas y lenguajes formales, el funcionamiento de los sistemas de información y la producción de significaciones. La discusión sobre seguir una regla plantea cuestiones centrales sobre la naturaleza de nuestros conceptos. En el presente ensayo situamos y discutimos una tesis del enfoque de Crispin Wright, a saber: el seguimiento de reglas conlleva siempre un compromiso epistémico. De acuerdo a nuestro punto de vista, el seguimiento de reglas para los casos que Wright llama “casos básicos” (casos que no pueden reducirse a una estructura de razonamiento modus ponens) no conlleva un compromiso epistémico. Tales casos básicos son compromisos (...) lingüísticos que, sin ser verdaderos o falsos, permiten que el resto de nuestro edificio conceptual pueda juzgarse verdadero o falso. Así, acordamos con Wright en que todo caso de captación de regla es un caso que requiere de competencia racional pero discutimos su criterio para señalar la racionalidad de la regla. (shrink)

In diesem Artikel werden wir die Begriffe System und Freiheit in Kants _Kritik der reinen Vernunft_ im Lichte ihrer späteren idealistischen Entwicklung untersuchen, die zum absoluten Idealismus von Schelling und Hegel führt, und deren anschließende Auflösung, so unsere Hypothese, in Schellings mittlerer Metaphysik. Unsere Hypothese ist, dass eine Rückkehr Schellings zu Kant in seiner Spätphilosophie sich auf den methodologischen und metaphysischen Dualismus bezieht, den letzterer zwischen theoretischer und praktischer Vernunft, zwischen Sein und Werden aufstellt und auf dem die Möglichkeit und (...) Wirklichkeit der menschlichen Freiheit, wie Schelling sie ab 1809 denkt, beruht. Wir werden hier die Voraussetzungen von Schellings Rückkehr zu Kant in zwei Momenten aufzeigen. Erstens (§ 1) werden wir die Begriffe System und Philosophie analysieren, die Kant an verschiedenen Stellen in der _Kritik der reinen Vernunft_ einführt, und wir werden kurz zeigen, wie ihre spätere idealistische Entwicklung eine Abkehr von Kants eigenem kosmischen und praktischen Philosophiebegriff hin zu einer Vorstellung von logischer oder idealer Vollkommenheit der Erkenntnis darstellt. Zweitens (§ 2) überprüfen wir die verschiedenen Bedeutungen von Kants Freiheitsbegriff in seinen kritischen Werken im Lichte des Dualismus von Schellings mittlerer Metaphysik, und wir schlagen vor, dass es nur in einem dualistischen System, das den Unterschied zwischen Sein und Sein-soll nicht aufhebt, wahre menschliche Freiheit geben kann. El propósito de este trabajo es ofrecer argumentos a favor de la interpretación de la palabra micénica ḳị-wo-na-de como ‘a la columna’. Para ello el trabajo se centra en tres aspectos distintos: 1) el estudio de los textos micénicos; 2) el análisis de los testimonios iconográficos de los periodos minoico y micénico y 3) la revisión de algunos textos del primer milenio a.C. en los que el término griego κίων ‘columna’ hace referencia a la imagen anicónica de una divinidad.

The closure of schools as a result of COVID-19 has been a critical global incident from which to rethink how education works in all our countries. Among the many changes generated by this crisis, all teaching became mediated by digital technologies. This paper intends to analyze the activities carried out during this time through digital technologies and the conceptions of teaching and learning that they reflect. We designed a Likert-type online questionnaire to measure the frequency of teaching activities. It was (...) answered by 1,403 teachers from Spain. The proposed activities varied depending on the learning promoted, the learning outcomes, the type of assessment to which the activities were directed, and the presence of cooperative activities. The major result of this study was that teachers used reproductive activities more frequently than constructive ones. We also found that most activities were those favoring verbal and attitudinal learning. The cooperative activities were the least frequent. Finally, through a cluster analysis, we identified four teaching profiles depending on the frequency and type of digital technologies use: Passive, Active, Reproductive, and Interpretative. The variable that produced the most consistent differences was previous digital technologies use These results show that Information and Communication Technologies uses are reproductive rather than constructive, which impedes effective digital technologies integration into the curriculum so that students gain 21st-century competencies. No que diz respeito ao Lago Gato Selvagem, é mais interessante tratar como Xiang’er se torna lésbica, que não se refere apenas sobre sexo ou gênero, mas também sobre opressão política e econômica; assim, o chamado gênero, entendido utopicamente, poderá ser identificado. Além disso, (...) a perda da subjetividade rural durante a ampliação e a transformação posterior, a nova opressão e a exploração resultantes são as razões fundamentais para Xiang’er se tornar lésbica e eventualmente “matar seu marido”. There is considerable evidence that the experience of justice is associated with perceived legitimacy of authority, but there has been no research about this association when considering past rather than current fairness. Based on the fairness heuristic theory, we tested the hypothesis that interpersonal justice trajectories positively affect perceived legitimacy of the authority; we also tested whether social class moderated this effect. Community residents rated the authority's fairness on 16 consecutive weeks and rated perceived legitimacy on the 16th week. The (...) results of latent growth modeling showed that the trajectory of interpersonal justice scores leading up to the final week significantly predicted perceived legitimacy, regardless of the current experience of interpersonal fairness. Tests of moderation showed that the legitimacy perceptions of individuals of lower subjective social class were significantly affected by interpersonal justice trajectories, whereas this was not the case among individuals of higher subjective social class. The results are discussed in terms of their implications for research on perceived legitimacy and justice, as well as their implications for understanding social class. (shrink)

Presentamos algunas ideas acerca de la relación entre libertad y contingencia atendiendo a sus componentes modales. Nuestra idea central es que la libertad es posible gracias a la contingencia, pero este hecho no es gratuito. En efecto, trataremos de mostrar que si bien la contingencia es básica para la libertad, esto mismo no es contingente. Pues si la contingencia misma no fuera necesaria, no podría fundamentar la libertad. Así que la contingencia misma puede recibir calificaciones modales.

During the course of its short history the discipline concerned with the origin of life has given birth to several scientific programmes in the Lakatosian sense, two of the most prominent and widespread being those initiated by Oparin (life began from protein entities) and Muller-Haldane (life began from genetic entities). The present paper sets down the bases for the rational reconstruction of both views by identifying their hard core and some of their successive developments. An assessment is made of the (...) various stages in the evolution of these programmes with respect to the crucial Lakatosian notions of progressivity and regressivity and of how their arguments stand up against one another. This epistemological analysis also establishes the internal reasons why the RNA version of the genotype programme (developed in particular by L. Orgel and S. Spiegelman) has today taken on a progressive character and enjoys recognition by the international scientific community. (shrink)

La relevancia de esta pregunta cobra fuerza a partir de la objeción de Adams y Aizawa a la teoría de la mente extendida. Este artículo reconstruye algunos argumentos a favor la teoría de la mente extendida y del externalismo de la conciencia. Posteriormente, se evalúa la propuesta de Kirchhoff de una noción de constitución como una relación entre niveles. The growing use of genetic tests in medical practice has a strong influence on some widespread notions of health and unhealth. Two consequences of this phenomenon are: (i) important changes in the meaning of these current notions and, therefore, (ii) the arrival of a new taxonomy or rearrangement for the so-called “health-concepts”. This paper attempts to demonstrate that both facts fuel a theoretical change that might be considered a model of scientific Kuhnean change in a fundamental aspect. On the other (...) hand, this theoretical shift process offers the basis for approaching a present-day controversy, i.e. whether Western society is going through a period of geneticization or not, from a new perspective. ABSTRACTThis paper argues that most prominent normative theories on immigration neglect a critical dimension of the migratory phenomenon, a neglect that blinds them to important rights that, under some circumstances, immigrants ought to have as a matter of justice. Specifically, the paper argues that these theories fail to appreciate that the children of immigrant families, regardless of whether they were born in their parents’ country or in the host country, should benefit from educational rights addressing needs that are particular to (...) their situation. These children may be forced to move between these two countries. This situation generates an obligation for both states to act jointly to provide educational opportunities so that these children are fully conversant with both cultures and in both languages. Put succinctly, then, we argue that since children of immigrant families lack any certainty of permanent residence in the host society owing to the threat of deportation and the precarity of their legal status, host and home societies bear the duty to offer an education that allows them to be functional in both societies.
