On the Category of EQ-algebras.Narges Akhlaghinia, Mona Aaly Kologani, Rajab Ali Borzooei & Xiao Long Xin - 2021 - Bulletin of the Section of Logic 50 (4):397-419.
In this paper, we studied the category of EQ-algebras and showed that it is complete, but it is not cocomplete, in general. We proved that multiplicatively relative EQ-algebras have coequlizers and we calculated coproduct and pushout in a special case. Also, we constructed a free EQ-algebra on a singleton.

nn-Fold Filters of EQ-Algebras.Batoul Ganji Saffar, Rajab Ali Borzooei & Mona Aly Kologani - 2022 - Bulletin of the Section of Logic 51 (4):455-486.
In this paper, we apply the notion of nn-fold filters to the EQEQ-algebras and introduce the concepts of nn-fold pseudo implicative, nn-fold implicative, nn-fold obstinate, nn-fold fantastic prefilters and filters on an EQEQ-algebra E\mathcal{E}. Then we investigate some properties and relations among them. We prove that the quotient algebra E/F\mathcal{E}/F modulo an 1-fold pseudo implicative filter of an EQEQ-algebra E\mathcal{E} is a good EQEQ-algebra and the quotient algebra E/F\mathcal{E}/F modulo an 1-fold fantastic filter of a good EQEQ-algebra E\mathcal{E} is (...)

Fields of finite Morley rank.Frank Wagner - 2001 - Journal of Symbolic Logic 66 (2):703-706.
If K is a field of finite Morley rank, then for any parameter set $A \subseteq K^{eq}$ the prime model over A is equal to the model-theoretic algebraic closure of A. A field of finite Morley rank eliminates imaginaries. Simlar results hold for minimal groups of finite Morley rank with infinite acl( $\emptyset$ ).

    Les beaux automorphismes.Daniel Lascar - 1991 - Archive for Mathematical Logic 31 (1):55-68.
Assume that the class of partial automorphisms of the monster model of a complete theory has the amalgamation property. The beautiful automorphisms are the automorphisms of models ofT which: 1. are strong, i.e. leave the algebraic closure (inT eq) of the empty set pointwise fixed, 2. are obtained by the Fraïsse construction using the amalgamation property that we have just mentioned. We show that all the beautiful automorphisms have the same theory (in the language ofT plus one unary function symbol (...)

Weak canonical bases in nsop theories.Byunghan Kim - 2021 - Journal of Symbolic Logic 86 (3):1259-1281.
We study the notion of weak canonical bases in an NSOP $_{1}$ theory T with existence. Given $p=\operatorname {tp}$ where $B=\operatorname {acl}$ in ${\mathcal M}^{\operatorname {eq}}\models T^{\operatorname {eq}}$, the weak canonical base of p is the smallest algebraically closed subset of B over which p does not Kim-fork. With this aim we firstly show that the transitive closure $\approx $ of collinearity of an indiscernible sequence is type-definable. Secondly, we prove that given a total $\mathop {\smile \hskip -0.9em ^| \ (...)

We make some beginning observations about the category Eq of equivalence relations on the set of natural numbers, where a morphism between two equivalence relations R and S is a mapping from the set of R-equivalence classes to that of S-equivalence classes, which is induced by a computable function. We also consider some full subcategories of Eq, such as the category Eq(Σ01) of computably enumerable equivalence relations (called ceers), the category Eq(Π01) of co-computably enumerable equivalence relations, and the category Eq(Dark*) (...)

    Representation theory of MV-algebras.Eduardo J. Dubuc & Yuri A. Poveda - 2010 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 161 (8):1024-1046.
In this paper we develop a general representation theory for MV-algebras. We furnish the appropriate categorical background to study this problem. Our guide line is the theory of classifying topoi of coherent extensions of universal algebra theories. Our main result corresponds, in the case of MV-algebras and MV-chains, to the representation of commutative rings with unit as rings of global sections of sheaves of local rings. We prove that any MV-algebra is isomorphic to the MV-algebra of all global (...)

  8. The origin of relation algebras in the development and axiomatization of the calculus of relations.Roger D. Maddux - 1991 - Studia Logica 50 (3-4):421 - 455.
The calculus of relations was created and developed in the second half of the nineteenth century by Augustus De Morgan, Charles Sanders Peirce, and Ernst Schröder. In 1940 Alfred Tarski proposed an axiomatization for a large part of the calculus of relations. In the next decade Tarski's axiomatization led to the creation of the theory of relation algebras, and was shown to be incomplete by Roger Lyndon's discovery of nonrepresentable relation algebras. This paper introduces the calculus of relations (...)

    States on pseudo MV-Algebras.Anatolij Dvurečenskij - 2001 - Studia Logica 68 (3):301-327.
Pseudo MV-algebras are a non-commutative extension of MV-algebras introduced recently by Georgescu and Iorgulescu. We introduce states (finitely additive probability measures) on pseudo MV-algebras. We show that extremal states correspond to normal maximal ideals. We give an example in that, in contrast to classical MV-algebras introduced by Chang, states can fail on pseudo MV-algebras. We prove that representable and normal-valued pseudo MV-algebras admit at least one state.

We define and study monadic MV-algebras as pairs of MV-algebras one of which is a special case of relatively complete subalgebra named m-relatively complete. An m-relatively complete subalgebra determines a unique monadic operator. A necessary and sufficient condition is given for a subalgebra to be m-relatively complete. A description of the free cyclic monadic MV-algebra is also given.

    Duality for algebras of relevant logics.Alasdair Urquhart - 1996 - Studia Logica 56 (1-2):263 - 276.
This paper defines a category of bounded distributive lattice-ordered grupoids with a left-residual operation that corresponds to a weak system in the family of relevant logics. Algebras corresponding to stronger systems are obtained by adding further postulates. A duality theoey piggy-backed on the Priestley duality theory for distributive lattices is developed for these algebras. The duality theory is then applied in providing characterizations of the dual spaces corresponding to stronger relevant logics.

We offer a proof of the duality theorem for finitely presented MV-algebras and rational polyhedra, a folklore and yet fundamental result. Our approach develops first a general dual adjunction between MV-algebras and subspaces of Tychonoff cubes, endowed with the transformations that are definable in the language of MV-algebras. We then show that this dual adjunction restricts to a duality between semisimple MV-algebras and closed subspaces of Tychonoff cubes. We prove that the first order theories of diagonalizable algebras of a wide class of theories are undecidable and establish some related results.

We define the notion of a partial Boolean algebra in a broader sense (PBA(bs)) and then we show that there is a mutual correspondence between PBA(bs) and compatible families of Boolean algebras (Theorem (1.8)). We examine in detail the interdependence between PBA(bs) and the following classes: partial Boolean algebras in the sense of Kochen and Specker (§ 2), ortholattices (§ 3, § 5), and orthomodular posets (§ 4), respectively.

Decomposability of free Łukasiewicz implication algebras.Jose Patricio Díaz Varela & Antoni Torrens Torrell - 2006 - Archive for Mathematical Logic 45 (8):1011-1020.
Łukasiewicz implication algebras are {→,1}-subreducts of Wajsberg algebras (MV-algebras). They are the algebraic counterpart of Super-Łukasiewicz Implicational logics investigated in Komori, Nogoya Math J 72:127–133, 1978. The aim of this paper is to study the direct decomposability of free Łukasiewicz implication algebras. We show that freely generated algebras are directly indecomposable. We also study the direct decomposability in free algebras of all its proper subvarieties and show that infinitely freely generated algebras are indecomposable, (...)
