    O orfickim języku mitu.Daniel Zarewicz - 2009 - Humanistyka I Przyrodoznawstwo 15:225-240.

Individual psychology, market scaffolding, and behavioral tests.Daniel John Zizzo - 2001 - Behavioral and Brain Sciences 24 (3):432-433.
Hertwig and Ortmann (H&O) rightly criticize the usage of deception. However, stationary replication may often have no ecological validity. Many economic experiments are not interactive; when they are, there is not much specifically validating H&O's psychological views on script enactment. Incentives in specific market structures may scaffold even zero rational decision-making, but this says very little about individual psychology.

    The Security of the Obvious: On John Cage's Musical Radicalism.Daniel A. Herwitz - 1988 - Critical Inquiry 14 (4):784-804.
That [John] Cage’s challenge to our musical beliefs, attitudes, and practices is posed from the difficult perspective of a Zen master has often been discussed. What has been neglected both by Cage himself and by others is another equally potent challenge to the ordinary which Cage formulates in a related but distinct voice: that of the philosopher. Through his relentless inquiry into new music, Cage had defined certain radical possibilities for musical change. What is in effect his skepticism about music (...)

Identity, Morality, and Threat: Studies in Violent Conflict.Daniel Rothbart & Karina Korostelina (eds.) - 2006 - Lexington Books.
Identity, Morality, and Threat offers a critical examination of the social psychological processes that generate outgroup devaluation and ingroup glorification as the source of conflict. Daniel Rothbart and Karyna Korostelina bring together essays analyzing the causal relationship between escalating violence and opposing images of the Self and Other.

What Matters to Kansas: Small Business and the Defeat of the Kansas Tax Experiment.Daniel R. Alvord - 2020 - Politics and Society 48 (1):27-66.
Why would businesses advocate for a tax increase? They may take such a position, this article argues, when tax cuts threaten their long-term economic interests. In 2012, Kansas eliminated taxes on many business owners but destabilized the economy and exposed small business to the harshness of market forces. Small businesses rely more on state services than large businesses and are more situated in local communities. The literature suggests two main reasons for small businesses’ “enlightened self-interest” perspective. First, many benefited only (...)

Cultural Value and Evolving Technologies: Instances From Music and Visual Art.Daniel Asia & Robert Edward Gordon - 2021 - Social Philosophy and Policy 38 (2):210-231.
Scientific advancement is inextricably linked to cultural advancement, and historically the arts have worked hand in hand with technological change. This essay explores some of the connections that exist between science, technology, and the arts, privileging instances where technological change resulted in new forms of artistic creation. Although the role of the arts in contemporary society has ebbed in comparison to that of technology and science, the essay argues that quality, meaningfulness, and longevity are key components in how the arts (...)

  29. Economic Rights as Human Rights: Commodification and Moral Parochialism.Daniel Attas - 2019 - In Jahel Queralt & Bas van der Vossen, Economic Liberties and Human Rights. New York, USA: Routledge Press.
Human rights are a construct of international law. Their legitimacy depends on them being informed by the deep-seated fact of global cultural pluralism and the concern of establishing a system that recognizes this pluralism, transcends a narrow parochial perspective and thus avoids the accusation of cultural or moral colonialism. There are two broad strategies to do this: by invoking an individualist-moral conception of HR designed to promote well-being and by invoking a social-political conception of HR aimed at preserving world peace (...)

    Imaginação: entre o medo e a liberdade.Daniel C. Avila - 2010 - Cadernos Espinosanos 23:135.

Embracing the eye of the Apple: On anthropology, theology and technology.Daniël P. Veldsman - 2019 - HTS Theological Studies 75 (1).
The playful re-working of the idiomatic expression ‘the apple of my eye’ to the ‘eye/I of my Apple’ provides the answer to the question on technology, emphasising its importance for societies, specifically the South African society, and embodied personhood, and at the same time its determinative contextual character. The answer to the question on technology firstly takes as the vantage point a few personal comments by the author in relation to the question at hand. Secondly, brief remarks on technology and (...)

  43. Author's personal copy.Daniel M. Wegner - unknown
It has been proposed that inferring personal authorship for an event gives rise to intentional binding, a perceptual illusion in which one’s action and inferred effect seem closer in time than they otherwise would (Haggard, Clark, & Kalogeras, 2002). Using a novel, naturalistic paradigm, we conducted two experiments to test this hypothesis and examine the relationship between binding and self-reported authorship. In both experiments, an important authorship indicator – consistency between one’s action and a subsequent event – was manipulated, and (...)

This essay examines President Nixon's drug policy during the early 1970s, specifically the government's reaction to heroin use by American soldiers in Vietnam. The official response, discursively (through the employment of the drugs-as-a-disease metaphor) and on the policy level illustrated how of issues of national- and self-identity othering, and modernity intersected in the formulation and implementation of what is now termed the Drug War. Heroin using soldiers and domestic addicts, labeled as carriers of a contagious, foreign, and antimodem, dangerous disease, (...)
