Abstract

How is the problem of science and theology perceived at a University foundet by representatives of the pietist Aufklärung (enlightenment)? The following paper describes three historical approaches which are suggested to answer this question. The author presents and investigates especially Georg Friedrich Meier's middle course (Mittelweg), which mediates (Vermittlung) between extremes.
