ES] Desde la invención de su nombre la filosofía fue entendida como contemplación, como «theoria», un saber que se aprende por los ojos del alma. Esta concepción «visual» del saber filosófico tiene su primera expresión en la «máthesis» pitagórica y llega hasta la teoría de la iluminación de los neoplatónicos, teniendo como hitos fundamentales de su despliegue entre los griegos el «noûs» de Parménides y Anaxágoras, la visión platónica del Bien, que el ojo del alma contempla, y la «nóesis» del motor inmóvil aristotélico. Junto a esta tradición que concibe la filosofía como mirada se desarrolla también entre los griegos otra, no menos importante, pero eclipsada por el fulgor de la primera. Es la concepción de la filosofía como saber aprendido por el oído, como escucha de la palabra. Aquí inicia el camino de la filosofía asumida como un diálogo con una tradición. [EN] Since the invention of his name Philosophy was understood as contemplation, as «theory», a knowledge learned through the eyes of the soul. This «visual» conception of philosophical knowledge has its first expression in the Pythagorean «mathesis» and reaches the theory of illumination of the Neoplatonists, having as fundamental milestones of its unfolding among the Greeks the «noûs» of Parmenides and Anaxagoras, the Platonic vision of the Good, which the eye of the soul contemplates, and the «noesis» of the Aristotelian Unmoved Mover. Together with this tradition which conceives philosophy as a gaze, another one also develops among the Greeks, not less important, but eclipsed by the brilliance of the first one. It is the conception of Philosophy as knowledge learned by the ear, as listening to the word. Here begins the path of Philosophy assumed as a dialogue with a tradition.
