The Italian «constitutional compromise» between the liberal, catholic, and socialist-communist traditions and the «fordist-keynesian compromise» between capital and labor are two frequent set expressions. They are often put together, and sometimes overlapped, insofar as they share an emphasis on the central role of labor, the former putting it at the very foundation of the Republic, the latter at the core of the virtuous circle of mass production and mass consumption. Starting from a discussion of these formulas, the essay will propose (...) some lines of research for the history of the Italian Republic, not without significance for contemporary political discourse. El trabajo infantil es una de las principales lacras actuales de la humanidad. El artículo, de tenor descriptivo, presenta los inicios históricos de las denuncias acerca de este problema, el desarrollo de los instrumentos de regulación internacional, las iniciativas de la Comunidad internacional para combatir el trabajo infantil, y las aportaciones del Magisterio pontificio acerca del tema.

L’articolo offre una rassegna introduttiva di alcuni degli sviluppi più recenti del rinnovato dibattito filosofico-politico in materia di lavoro, facendo riferimento alle ricerche di studiose e studiosi tra cui Dejours, Ferreras, Fraser, Honneth, Jaeggi, Renault, Battilana, Méda, Lordon, Virno e Negri. Si introdurranno brevemente le principali trasformazioni del lavoro avvenute negli ultimi decenni di globalizzazione neoliberista, con particolare attenzione alla moltiplicazione del lavoro e al ruolo crescente riconosciuto al lavoro riproduttivo, alle migrazioni e alla conoscenza. Verranno poi presentate alcune analisi (...) della sofferenza e dell’alienazione nel lavoro contemporaneo. Infine, si passerà in rassegna il dibattito teorico sulle sfide politiche sollevate dal nuovo scenario, concentrandosi sulle questioni della democratizzazione del lavoro, della società “post-lavoro” e della potenza riconosciuta al “lavoro vivo”. In our age now deprived of the traditional metaphysical certainties, to study the moral dimension of subjectivity in Hegel's The Phenomenology of Spirit is to make one's object of investigation that which is one of the themes of greatest philosophical interest, precisely owing to its great topicality. Hegel deals with the moral issue in a particularly profound manner, aware both of the contradictory and dramatic aspects of that experience and of the centrality of the motif of the «beyond». On the (...) basis of this interpretative thesis, the analyses of Hegel's text made in this research are devoted to focussing on the experiences of the subject's constitution and legitimization together with the unexpected consequences deriving from the problematic relationship that the consciousness establishes with the self-sufficient immobility of substance. The result is a historiographical and theoretical study that slots effectively into the contemporary debate on the great topicality of Hegel's thought. (shrink)

In this paper, I will try to establish a parallel between Charles S. Peirce’s and Ernst Bloch’s theory of categories. Both the authors hypothesise a phenomenological foundation for their theory of categories: categories are elements of Experience and products of Praxis. Nevertheless, Bloch’s phenomenology is characterised by a peculiar aspect: according to Bloch, the gestural dimension plays a fundamental role in the Knowledge Process, positing the category of ‘Possibility’. In line with Maddalena’s analyses on the relation between ‘Complete Gesture’ and (...) ‘Work’, I will try to illustrate that the parallel between Bloch and Peirce can be extended, by including the semiotic dimension of gesture. The subject of this work is Maine de Biran’s theory about nature, origin and function of language, and about signs in general. Such theoretical reflection is a not very well explored aspect of Biran’s thought, whereas it is extremely important because of its connections with Biran’s doctrine of the active nature of human being. In the present article we have tried to make a reconstruction of this reflection that shows in deep the connections between Biran’s thought and the doctrines of (...) his main interlocutors: Condillac, Maupertuis, Rousseau, Destutt de Tracy. Mediation is a key concept in the thought of Simone Weil. The paper addresses this topic exploring Weil's writings between 1920s-1940s. At first, Weil reinterprets the Cartesian legacy and sees mediation as a practical instance in the relationship between the subject and the world, in terms of “perception” and “work”. At a later moment, Weil shifts the focus to the desire for the good, which she believes to be a more original way to understand the ego-world relationship. The experience of (...) affliction, then, becomes central: it transforms desire into detachment, and it enables attention, opening up an horizon of transcendence. In the last part of her writings, Weil frames mediation within a global reinterpretation of Platonism. Thus, based on the Platonic dualistic framework, a “metaphysics of mediation” emerges, with an emphasis on the role of the intermediaries. (shrink)

Lo scopo del presente lavoro è quello di esplorare nella letteratura sanitaria internazionale il ruolo delle humanities nella formazione al lavoro di cura, offrendo una prospettiva “interna” rispetto ai temi in questione. A partire da una ricerca bibliografica nella banca dati PubMed, con le parole chiave “medical humanities” e “caring”, si analizzerà il significato di questi termini in alcuni ambiti sanitari, esaminando se e perché le medical humanities vengono considerate un valido metodo per formare professionisti con competenze di caring. Nelle (...) conclusioni si discuteranno il potenziale e i limiti di una formazione alla competenza di caring basata sulle medical humanities, mettendo in luce come tale competenza possa essere sviluppata anche e soprattutto a partire dalla riflessione sulla pratica clinica e, soprattutto, dalle relazioni con i docenti. Infine, verrà proposta come altrettanto cruciale la cura con cui i formatori allestiscono il dispositivo educativo dei professionisti sanitari.The aim of this paper is to explore the role of the humanities in training caringcompetencies in the international medical literature, giving an “internal” perspective about these topics. Starting from a bibliographic research in PubMed data source, with the key words “medical humanities” and “caring”, it will be analyzed the meaning of these expressions in some healthcare professional fields, exploring if and why medical humanities are considered a suitable method to train operators to the caring work. Conclusively, the strengths and limitations of training caring competencies through medical humanities will be discussed, clarifying that these competencies can also be improved by reflecting on clinical practice, and, moreover, by the relationship that teachers establish with their students. Finally, a caring attitude in setting up the educational environment of the healthcare professionals will be introduced as a paramount competence, too. (shrink)

Interessato in esaminare il rapporto tra Lukàcs e la filosofia clàssica, questo saggio vuole mostrare che il filosofo ungherese ha trovato nella categoria del lavoro una sintesi tra soggetto e oggetto, restando cosi in condizioni di riproporre alcune delle questioni fondamentali delia filosofia: il ruolo del filosofo nella società, il rapporto tra filosofia e politica, la definizione di una nuova etica. Dimenticate dalla filosofia contemporânea, queste questioni sono tornate oggi al centro del dibattito filosòfico, spingendo i filosofi a riflettere sul (...) fondamento dello stesso pensiero e della realtà storica che essi vivono. Ed è alia luce di esse che il saggio pretende interpretare la categoria lukàcsiana dei lavoro.Interessado em examinar as relações entre Lukács e a filosofia clàssica, o presente ensaio procura demonstrar que o filósofo húngaro encontrou na categoria do trabalho uma sìntese entre sujeito e objeto, ficando assim em condições de repropor algumas das questões fundamentais da filosofia: o papel do filósofo na sociedade, a relação entre filosofia e política, a definição de uma nova ética. Esquecidas por boa parte da filosofia contemporânea, tais questões retornam hoje ao centro do debate filosófico, impelindo os filósofos a refletir sobre o fundamento do próprio pensamento e da realidade histórica em que vivem. The transformation of the text from the pre-information technology and Gutenberg modes to the model marked by information or digital technology is such that it substantially changes not only the concept of the text but also the nature of philology itself. This paper presents and discusses the problems encountered in producing a digital edition of the Zibaldone Laurenziano, Giovanni Boccaccio’s handwritten manuscript conserved in the Laurenziana Library in Florence (Pluteo XXIX, 8). The Medieval text in general, and even more with (...) the case of a zibaldone-type text, has intrinsic characteristics that clash with the immobility and definitive nature typical of the print text. The digital edition has been defined by Lebrave as the “critical edition of the 21st century.” It can be based on hypertextuality and hypermediality, using the internet as a resource, and is perfectly able to render textual movement, restoring the text to its specific mobility. Il passaggio del testo dalla modalità pre-informatica e gutemberghiana, a quella segnata dall’informatica o digitale è tale da cambiare sostanzialmente non solo il concetto di testo ma anche la natura stessa della filologia. Il saggio presenta e discute i problemi incontrati nel lavoro volto a stabilire un’edizione critica informatizzata dello Zibaldone Laurenziano, manoscritto autografo di Giovanni Boccaccio, conservato alla Biblioteca Laurenziana di Firenze (Pluteo XXIX, 8). Il testo medievale (e ancor più un testo del tipo-zibaldone) presenta delle caratteristiche intrinseche che entrano in contraddizione con l’immobilità e la natura definitiva tipiche del testo a stampa. L’edizione informatizzata, quella che si può basare sull’ipertestualità, sull’ipermedialità e sul ricorso alla rete, quella che Jean-Louis Lebrave ha definito come “l’édition critique au XXI.e siècle” (Lebrave 127), è perfettamente in grado di rendere il movimento testuale, restituendo al testo la sua rigorosa mobilità.
