In this essay some proposals for discussion are made which deal with the question whether and how an “Option for the Poor” can be realized in jurisprudence. Do legal scientists have a special social and political responsibility? How can be argued for that responsibility? First of all I shall draw the ethical and scientific-ethical framework, which is necessary to deal with these questions. Then I shall present the main points of such an approach to jurisprudence.
