This article is a presentation of Plantinga’s ontological argument in its historical and systematical frames. Criticisms of the argument are presented as well. Philosophical claims underlying the defense of the argument are described as minimalist, but their connection with a strong logical system is noted.

RESUMO Nas fronteiras entre teatrologia e dialogismo, o presente artigo propõe reflexões sobre o processo de encenação do texto A serpente, de Nelson Rodrigues, nos anos de 2017 e 2018 pelo Carmen Group - Centro de Treinamento em Corpo, Arte, Movimento e Encenação. A partir de uma perspectiva que relata e, ao mesmo tempo, analisa etapas de criação cênica, o texto dialoga com a teoria bakhtiniana, buscando compreender aspectos constitutivos de três experimentos teatro[dia]lógicos: a mostra do trabalho laboratorial do (...) grupo, denominada Serpentes de laboratório, a montagem de A Serpente em seu formato de Espetáculo e a sessão de Desmontagem Cênica. Os resultados sinalizam, para além das especificidades teóricas, técnicas e metodológicas características de cada um dos experimentos, aspectos relacionados à autoria, recepção e significação nas diferentes situações de comunicação teatral vivenciadas.ABSTRACT On the border between theater and dialogism, this article proposes reflections on the process of staging A Serpente, by Nelson Rodrigues in 2017 and 2018 by the Carmen Group - Body, Art, Movement and Staging Training Center. From a perspective that reports and analyzes at the same time steps of scenic creation, the text dialogues with the Bakhtinian theory, seeking to understand the constitutive aspects of three dialogical-theatrical experiments: the group's laboratory work, called Serpentes de laboratório, the assembly of A Serpente [The Serpent]in its Show format and the session of Disassembly Scenic. In addition to the theoretical, technical and methodological specificities of each one of the experiments, results signal aspects concerning authorship, reception and significance of the different situations of theatrical communication experienced by the group. With this third edition of Nelson Goodman's The Structure of Appear ance, we are pleased to make available once more one of the most in fluential and important works in the philosophy of our times. Professor Geoffrey Hellman's introduction gives a sustained analysis and appreciation of the major themes and the thrust of the book, as well as an account of the ways in which many of Goodman's problems and projects have been picked up and developed by others. Hellman (...) also suggests how The Structure of Appearance introduces issues which Goodman later continues in his essays and in the Languages of Art. There remains the task of understanding Good man's project as a whole; to see the deep continuities of his thought, as it ranges from logic to epistemology, to science and art; to see it therefore as a complex yet coherent theory of human cognition and practice. What we can only hope to suggest, in this note, is the b. road Significance of Goodman's apparently technical work for philosophers, scientists and humanists. One may say of Nelson Goodman that his bite is worse than his bark. Behind what appears as a cool and methodical analysis of the conditions of the construction of systems, there lurks a radical and disturbing thesis: that the world is, in itself, no more one way than another, nor are we. O primeiro tópico lança o substrato epistemológico sobre a existência das racionalidades estratégica e comunicativa. O segundo, afirma que o desengate entre o sistema e o mundo da vida, e a colonização deste por aquele, causam as patologias modernas e colaboram para a formulação de pedagogias coordenadas pela ação estratégica. O terceiro, propõe que o reacoplamento do sistema ao mundo vivido proporciona que (...) todas as dimensões da existência humana sejam orientadas pela ação comunicativa, na qual se encontram os traços de uma paideia emancipadora e revolucionária. Social distance often motivates consumers to increase their interactions through social networking sites. This study identifies antecedents of consumer brand usage and brand connection of SNSs, under the influence of consumer perceived ethics (CPE), during the COVID pandemic and afterward (N = 308). The proposed model was tested using partial least squares-structural equation modeling with AMOS 23. In both periods, this study shows CPE consistently affects consumer engagement and involvement. The results demonstrate that in social isolation, affective engagement has higher (...) relevance to driving Self-Brand Connection (SBC) among consumers and SNSs. On the other hand, CPE was demonstrated to provide consistent and significant effects in both periods, showing its stable capacity to impact brand involvement, engagement, use, and self-connection. In the context of the pandemic, this study demonstrates the consistent effects of CPE and other impacts of Consumer Brand Engagement (CBE) on brand usage and self-connection of SNSs. (shrink)

The thesis is two-fold: to show that to be human is to have a nature disposed to inalienable conflict of interests, and to show that creativity is the best principle by which to organize interests.

Over the past decade, support for reexamining and reconsidering the U.S. model of ethics review for protocols involving research with humans has grown, particularly for studies involving participants from multiple locales and organizations. The HMO Research Network received an infrastructure-building contract in 2004 that enabled us to evaluate issues in multi-institutional IRB review, examine possible changes, and propose a new model. We conducted key informant interviews and held meetings with IRB personnel, administrators, and researchers, eventually resulting in networkwide agreement to (...) pilot an alternative model of IRB review for minimal-risk, data-only studies that only entailed use of computerized data from our network sites. This article describes the organizational and interpersonal processes that led to the successful establishment of this alternative model, to inform other research consortia considering new multisite review models. El texto desarrolla -a modo de ensayo- un recorrido por el cuerpo como lugar, discurso y objeto de control, taxonomía a partir de lo cual se proponen tres operaciones posibles de desarrollar: el estudio de la memoria del cuerpo a partir de sus indicios; la comprensión histórica del ejercicio del cuerpo a partir de sus prolongaciones, y el análisis de las condiciones para el ejercicio del poder en medio de la tensión dominación-libertad. El autor plantea que las tres dimensiones desarrolladas (...) (cuerpo como lugar, como discurso y como poder) no son independientes entre sí, ya que componen un complejo sistema de relaciones que explican y encubren los significados de los vínculos del cuerpo a nivel social. Finalmente, el artículo plantea que el escenario del cuerpo constituye el punto de paso de todas las políticas con independencia de su origen, ya que en él se instala y proyecta la totalidad de la red social, siendo el principal objeto del gobierno y sus decisiones. Advocates of a more socially responsible discipline of economics often emphasize the purposive and unpredictable nature of human economic behavior, contrasting this to the presumably deterministic behavior of natural forces. This essay argues that such a distinction between “social” and “natural” sciences is in fact counterproductive, especially when issues of ecological sustainability are concerned. What is needed instead is a better notion of science—“science-with-wonder”—which grounds serious science in relational, non-Newtonian thinking.
