Resumo: O presente artigo tem como objetivo refletir sobre a subjetividade/identidade desejada e propagada no documento da Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC). O documento voltado à formação dos estudantes da educação básica em território brasileiro é tomado, na presente discussão, em sua natureza duplamente política. Para tal, parte-se de uma perspectiva epistemológica pluralista, utilizando-se de conceitos-ferramenta de base foucaultiana e de autores da Sociologia, a saber, Norbert Elias, Zigmunt Bauman, Claude Dubar e Stuart Hall. A partir da discussão de subjetividade, (...) identidade e outros conceitos relevantes às reflexões e problematizações, lança-se um olhar para as 10 competências gerais expressas no documento supracitado. Os excertos selecionados para análise demonstram evocar, validar e propagar subjetividades/identidades ao encontro do que os sociólogos analisam como abertas, móveis, flexíveis, próprias da modernidade tardia ou líquida; além de responsabilizar o sujeito por suas escolhas. Palavras-chave: Identidade; Subjetividade; BNCC The ideal subjectivity in the BNCC: reflections on training in Basic Education Abstract: This article aims to reflect on the subjectivity/identity desired and propagated in the document of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). The document aimed at the training of basic education students in Brazilian territory in the present discussion, in its doubly political nature. Therefore, we start from a pluralist epistemological perspective, using Foucaultian-based tool concepts and sociology authors, namely Norbert Elias, Zygmunt Bauman, Claude Dubar, and Stuart Hall. From the discussion of subjectivity, identity, and other concepts relevant to the reflections and problematizations, it launched a look at the 10 general competencies expressed in the aforementioned document. The excerpts selected for analysis show to evoke, validate and propagate subjectivities/identities in line with what sociologists analyze as open, mobile, flexible, typical of late or liquid modernity; in addition to making the subject responsible for their choices. This article addresses the problem of two extreme positions in the self-understanding of human beings namely ignoring culture or its over-determination. Though Charles Taylor and Antonio Gramsci are widely known to differ from each other in many respects, we endeavor a congruent reading to evolve a comprehensive perspective. We make avail of their concepts, such as background, horizon, and common sense, to comprehend the nature of the culturally constituted self and its relevance for education. For both Taylor and Gramsci, the (...) human self is situated in a cultural framework. Though the relation between self and culture is constitutive and inevitable, culture does not entirely determine or overshadow the self. This stance gives space for upholding freedom, dignity and liberation of the human self in both of them. While preserving the essential role of culture in the formation of the human self, education must not be reduced to identity politics. Education must incorporate culture, be critical of it and pay attention to forming a critical self. (shrink)

Philosophy since Nietzsche and Heidegger has been averse to essentialism and considered to be old-fashioned and outmoded in the mainstream flow of debates. And it is often understood that essentialism cannot get along well with freedom and creativity insisted in liberal education. In this article, I discuss three types of essentialism in Edith Stein’s essential strands of thought by explicating the universal structure of human person, the individuality of each person with reference to the inner core of each person, and (...) gender essentialism but always in consonant with the interests of liberal education. Though Stein is an essentialist, I argue that it is the spirit dimension of human person, which she delineates, that enables her to underscore freedom and indeterminism. I attempt to put Stein’s philosophical anthropology in the layout of epistemological and ontological settings paving the way for evolving integral education with huge consideration for her tripartite dimension of human beings namely the psychic, the spiritual and the transcendental. Preliminary approximations between the singular–particular–universal dialectics and the historical-critical pedagogical theory are elaborated in this paper, based on the exposition of the categories of singularity, universality and particularity articulated to the demands that the materialistic historical-dialectical method places as a condition for the production of knowledge capable of apprehending reality in its concreteness. It is argued that historical-critical pedagogy carries in its formulation the movement of these categories, formulating notes related to the concept of educational work, the problem of the (...) curriculum and the subject towards which is directed the pedagogical act. Demonstrating that the categories of singular, particular and universal enable multiple analytical movements in the field of school education is one of the purposes of the analysis that is developed along the paper.
