Chicago School argues that the use of predatory strategy may not lead to a profit. Postchicago School, investigating this problem on the basis of game theory, argues just the opposite. This dispute on the basis of theoretical economics, has an impact on ethics in economic life. In a number of lawsuits companies rely on the views of the Chicago School to win, which raises the ethical concerns.

Ve své práci se autor zamýšlí nad používáním metod exaktních věd v ekonomii. Upozorňuje na problémy dnešních ekonomik vyvolané hospodářskou recesí a nalézá ideje, jimiž bylo dnešní ekonomické uvažování ovlivněno. Pouští se do analýzy racionalistického myšlení 19. století, které stálo za změnou obsahu výrazu "věda" a zamýšlí se nad následky, které to pro budoucí vývoj mělo. Dále analyzuje hloubku ovlivnění ekonomie exaktními vědami a svá zjištění demonstruje na příkladu laureátů Nobelových cen za ekonomii. Zjišťuje, že některé ceny byly uděleny spíše (...) za aplikaci matematických metod a pokusů o kvantifikaci, nežli za skutečnou analýzu lidského jednání. V druhé části práce se autor zamýšlí nad možnostmi vytváření svobodnější a "spravedlivější" společnosti a možnostmi vědců v této oblasti. Analyzuje činnost plánovačů a podstatu liberálního řádu. Článek se zabývá demystifikací dodnes panující legendy o ikoně světové vědy, nositeli Nobelovy ceny za objev štěpení těžkých jader, chemiku Otto Hahnovi. Desítky let byl považován za vzor německé slušnosti, zodpovědnosti a příklad antinacistického vědce, který nekolaboroval se zločinným režimem na jeho válečné mašinérii. Teprve od devadesátých let 20. století se dostávají k rukám historiků archivní materiály, jež umožňují získat ucelenou představu o Hahnově působení v době nacistického Německa a o jeho aktivním zapojení ve válečném uranovém výzkumu, jehož výsledkem mělo (...) být sestrojení jaderných reaktorů a bomb. Je to vlastně rekapitulace kosmologického konceptu postaveného na objevu pozapomenuté myšlenky Aristida Acheropoula, která má vysvětlit silentium universi. Proč vesmír mlčí? Proč nám nikdo neodpovídá na naše výzvy posílané do mezihvězdných dálek? Proč je naše pátrání po mimozemských civilizacích neúspěšné? Testa ve své přednášce před posluchače postupně vrství fundamentální otázky vztahu matematiky a fyziky, (...) intertpretaci posledních objevů moderní kosmologie, vysvětlení fyzikálních zákonitostí teorie relativity a kvantové mechaniky včetně metafyzické otázky proč jsou právě takové. Protože Lem staví před čtenáře příběh vědeckého objevu, nabízí se možnost, vzít je zcela vážně nikoli jako fiction, ale jako science a podívat se na jeho jednotlivé komponenty očima soudobé vědy. The aim of this article is to present the circumstances of Noël Coypel’s appointment as rector of the French Academy in Rome and to trace the route of his didactic journey from Paris to Rome with the Prix de Rome scholars entrusted to him. The paper is an attempt to answer the following questions: why a more difficult route through the Alps was chosen, in what way was the journey educational, and what role did the documents given to Coypel play (...) in securing the expedition. The article is based on an analysis of administrative records during the reign of Louis XIV, lists of superintendents and directors of the French Academy in Rome, accounts of royal buildings, and minutes of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture in Paris. The paper uses the analytical method, the comparative method, the synthetic method, source criticism, argumentum ex silentio inference, and the geographical method when discussing the itinerary. Although the trip was purposeful and related to Coypel’s new position, he designed it in such a way as to not so much get to the destination quickly, but to show his students as much as possible. Coypel introduced the royal scholars to masterpieces of painting and sculpture at centers along a route through Dijon, Lyon, Chambéry, the Mont Cenis Pass, Turin, Milan, Bologna and Florence. The crossing of the Alps, though dangerous, was most often chosen because of the artistic reputation of the cities there. The trip was educational at the expense of comfort or safety. Coypel, as a guide and teacher led his charges by overseeing their learning during and through the journey. Wandering to the Eternal City was part of a painter’s education in the seventeenth century and was part of Coypel’s didactic work allowing young people to be inspired by direct exposure to masterpieces. The journey had an eminently didactic and artistic character, but also an initiatory one, as it gradually initiated and prepared the students for the experience of Rome, the center of artistic life at that time. Podczas gdy w początkach XX wieku pozytywizm upatrywał w nauce jedyne źródło wartościowej poznawczo wiedzy, postmodernizm z początku obecnego stulecia traktuje teorie przyrodnicze przede wszystkim jako formę narracji literackiej. W antyintelektualnych nastrojach, wyrażających krytykę oświeceniowej afirmacji racjonalności, ceni się pragmatyczne zastosowania nauki, nie zaś jej funkcje poznawcze. Sytuacja taka stwarza pilną potrzebę interdyscyplinarnej współpracy między filozofami, teologami i przedstawicielami nauk przyrodniczych. W ostatnim okresie podjęto w wielu ośrodkach (...) interdyscyplinarne programy badawcze, które dotyczą różnych aspektów teorii ewolucji, związków między przetwarzaniem informacji w komputerach a neurofizjologią, relacji między naturalizmem metodologicznym a różnorodnymi wersjami naturalizmu ontologicznego. Rozwijane badania stanowią nową jakość we wzajemnych relacjach nauk przyrodniczych z myślą chrześcijańską. Przezwyciężają one zarówno złudzenia scjentyzmu, jak i dominującą w pozytywizmie cząstkową koncepcję prawdy, w której brakuje odpowiedzi na pytania istotne dla całościowej wizji świata. Równocześnie stanowią one również odpowiedź na wizję interdyscyplinarnego dialogu, którą Jan Paweł II ukazał w encyklice Fides et ratio oraz w Liście do George \'a Coyne \'a SI, skierowanym z racji 300-lecia publikacji Principiów Newtona.
