본 연구는 포스트휴먼 시대에 직면하게 될 사회정의의 문제에 대해서 살피면서, 그 대답을 찾기 위해서 임마누엘 레비나스의 정의론을 살펴보고 있다. 이를 위해서 먼저 포스트휴먼(트랜스휴먼), 트랜스휴머니즘과 포스트휴머니즘의 쟁점들에 대해서 살펴보았다. 포스트휴먼이란 포스트휴먼 시대에 인간과 공존하게 될 새로운 존재를 말하는 것이고, 트랜스휴머니즘은 이러한 존재들이 인간에게 가져다 줄 유익에 대해서 낙관론적인 시각으로 바라보는 관점이고, 포스트휴머니즘은 포스트휴먼 시대의 철학적인 과제들에 대해서 다루는 것이다. 이어서 포스트휴먼 시대의 직면하게 될 사회 정의의 문제를 조명해보았다. 사회제도와 법적인 차원에서 제기될 ‘로봇권(포스트휴먼권)’에 대해서 살펴보았으며, 아울러서 포스트휴먼과 인간이 공존하는 과정에서 벌어지게 될 (...) 사회정의의 문제들도 고찰하였다. 끝으로 포스트휴먼 시대의 정의의 문제에 대해서 레비나스의 정의론의 관점에서 접근을 시도하였다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구는 타자와의 관계성에 기초한 윤리적 주체성을 바탕으로 만들어내는 정의로운 공동체가 포스트휴먼 시대의 새로운 존재(인간과 포스트휴먼을 모두 포함)가 살아갈 정의로운 사회를 지향할 수 있는 하나의 길이 될 수 있음을 논증하였다. Ethics matters in this contemporary world because humanity has been extremely isolated and easily exposed to the violence. Unless humanity finds a way to overcome this situation, he or she cannot live happily even though the materialism seems to guarantee humanity to live prosperously. With this sense, this research delves into the meaning of ethics, as it focuses on Levinas’appreciation on alterity and responsibility. Most of all, this study demonstrates how Levinas discovers the phenomenality of the face of the Other, (...) how he criticizes on the limitation of Western ontology, and what he argues about ethical responsibility. In Levinas, the face of the Other has the religious implication in that it reveals itself as the form of the Infinite as it makes the I respond on the appeal of the face. This unconditional request helps humanity acknowledge his or her own ethical responsibility on the human predicaments in this contemporary violent world. Based on this acknowledgement, this study tries to grasp the significance of ethics in order for humanity to foster the capability of sympathy on the predicaments of beings. (shrink)

아렌트의 텍스트들 가운데 나타나는 용서 개념을 분석함으로써 우리는 아렌트가 정치 적 용서 개념의 다양한 측면을 다루고 있음을 알 수 있다. 전체주의에 대한 경험을 통해 아 렌트는 자신의 독특한 정치사상을 연다. 이 경험을 중심으로 용서에 대한 아렌트의 생각을 점검할 때 우리는 그의 정치적 용서 개념의 특성을 이해하게 된다. 아렌트의 정치적 용서 개념의 핵심은 용서가 특정한 역사적 배경을 가진 상황에서 새로운 정치 공간이 열리기 위 해 요구되는 필수조건이라는 점이다. 화해가 객관적으로 드러나는 것이라면 용서는 보이지 않는 인간의 내면에서 작용한다. 정치적 용서는 정치적 화해를 (...) 이루고 정치공간을 열어내 기 위해 요청된다. 이런 특성은 북아일랜드의 사례를 견주어볼 때 가장 잘 이해된다. There is a common misunderstanding about the Confucian ethics as such that Confucianism does not have the notion of selfhood, but it is completely altruistic. This research, however, explores of the meaning of the selfhood in the Confucian ethics as it concentrates on the notion of the self and the way for the fulfillment of humanity, related to the issue of moral agency. This paper focuses on the classical Confucianism in order to develop this argument. To begin with, this research (...) examines the possibility of the formulation of the selfhood, that is, the conception of the relationalself in order to deal with the notion of the self. Furthermore, this paper delves into the way to fulfill humanity based on the idea of self-cultivation. Thus, this research studies the meaning of the selfhood in the Confucian ethics. (shrink)
