The transformation of the spiritual sphere of the information society: Opportunities and threats

Abstract

Problem setting. Scientific-technical progress leads to the creation of new technologies that, on the one hand, can be considered as a benefit because it creates the conditions for self-realization and identify its creative potential and abilities. However, the proliferation of new technologies, cyberspace creates huge opportunities for the invasion of spiritual- ity and psyche to manipulate and. A number of moral restraints in real life disappears, which contributes to the negative manifestations of human spirituality in the form of de- structive activities. The growth of freedom in the information society carries not only positive but also negative, very dangerous changes in human spirituality. Recent research and publications analysis shows that today made a quite fruitful at- tempts at understanding transformation processes in the spiritual sphere of modern soci- ety. However, today there is an urgent problem to perform your own secure measurement of such transformations. Paper objective. Main goal of this article is the implementation of a philosophical analysis of the destructive impacts of the information society on the security of the spiri- tual sphere of human life and society. Paper main body. Increase the amount of information transformation in the sphere of interpersonal relations in the traditional way of life largely determine the deformation of spirituality. The result is the acute manifestation of existential issues: the sense of spiritual emptiness and loneliness of the individual in the context of a significant volume of information flows, the pursuit of self-realization with the simultaneous imposition of stereotypes. Most often in the framework of the information society the person feels isola- tion and uselessness, resulting in the growth of so-called negative spirituality. Culture as a space of self-realization is transformed into a space dominated by consumption and entertainment are the choice of forms of spiritual activity, which is artificially set by the media and mass communication. Culture is not conducive to the exaltation of the indi- vidual, and often “drop” to its level because it offers a ready surrogate forms of virtual processes of modern reality. Conclusions of the research. In the information society greatly increases the negative human activity, associated with the growth of alienation, transformation of system of val- ues. Negative activity is of a General nature and is a threat to the existence of man himself. Pronounced the main features of spiritual alienation, which is alienation of the virtual. Culture as a space of self-realization is transformed into a space dominated by consump- tion and entertainment are the choice of forms of spiritual activity that significantly threat- ens the security of the spiritual realm. Culture in the information society is often not conducive to the exaltation of personality, and drop it to the level of being in the world of things, because it offers a ready surrogate forms of virtual processes of modern reality.
