Abstract

From a sociological and gender perspective, this research investigated the model of masculinity characteristic among profeminist men compared to that of the general population of men, based on a comparison of ideas, attitudes and social praxis. The results show a clear tendency in the first group towards greater egalitarianism in all parameters in comparison to the traditional model of masculinity. As regards the potential for change, the difference in attitudes was especially marked, with the concomitant and well-known effect on praxis in the use of time. This can be said to represent a model of masculinity still in the process of development, but heading in the right direction
