An Empirical Analysis on the Structure of Board of Directors and Firm Performance of Shaanxi Listed Firms

Abstract

Sample of listed companies in Shaanxi Province, Shaanxi analyzed the board of directors of listed companies structure and firm performance relationship. Through data analysis, found that the board of directors of listed companies in Shaanxi structure and the correlation between company performance is poor, this is the board of directors of listed companies is not strong due to endogenous, Shaanxi, and the board of directors of listed companies in the corporate governance structure does not play a dominant the role. Finally, the Board proposed the reform of China's listed companies, the corresponding policy recommendations. This paper makes an empirical analysis on the relationship between the structure of board of directors and the firm performance of the listed firms in Shaanxi province. There is an evidence that the correlation between the structure of Board of Directors and the firm performance is poor. The cause is that the Board of Directors of Shaanxi listed firms has not come into being internally. The Board of Directors has not played the chief role in the corporate governance. On the basis of above analysis, the paper puts forward the relevant reform suggestions
