Hegel [Book Review]
Abstract
Fink’s Hegel is based on a two-semester lecture course given in Freiburg in 1966–67. It provides an interpretation of the first half of the Phenomenology of Spirit. Beginning with the “Introduction,” it proceeds section by section through the three major divisions “Consciousness,” “Self-Consciousness,” and “Reason.” There is considerable variation in the distance of the interpretation from Hegel’s text, in the extent of its engagement in the intricacies of the movement of that text, the variation occasionally being marked in Fink’s text itself.
