Abstract

This study builds on an outline of the debate on transhumanism and posthumanism nowadays in order to focus on the roots of this contemporary discussion: the controversies on anti-humanism that stirred 20th century thinking. My basic core assumption is that the process against traditional humanism is actually ongoing for more than 150 years with no final verdict.
