Abstract

Nietzsche's well-known statement collected by Heidegger "art is the most transparent and familiar form of the will to power" comes to emphasize that only in art the will to power recognizes that nothing bases it. But it is insufficient to characterize the idea of art that Nietzsche uses and we consider it can be more precisely addressed. We propose some categories, which although they are never going to be presented purely in a specific case, can help us to guide ourselves in the complex question of art in Nietzsche, understand the type of fiction that the author promotes and prevent aesthetic relativism. These categories will be: Resentful fiction, Explicit structuring fiction and Explicit dissolvent fiction.
