Novo ensino médio e o “cidadão” como consumidor

Abstract

Resumo: O presente artigo pretende salientar os traços pragmáticos presentes na reforma do ensino médio e sua tentativa de desenvolver uma formação que contemple mais os interesses e projetos de vida dos alunos. Defendemos que a reforma visa atender demandas típicas do cidadão como consumidor tal como caracterizado pelo sociólogo Wolfgang Streeck. O Novo Ensino Médio pode ser visto como uma tentativa de tornar a educação mais atrativa em meio a uma sociedade pautada pela lógica de consumo. Discorremos sobre os riscos de se pensar a educação sob a ótica do utilitarismo e do investimento pessoal, sobre o caráter pragmático e a-histórico de uma educação orientada pelo desenvolvimento de competências, bem como sobre a necessidade de formar pessoas responsáveis e comprometidas com o mundo. New High School and the “citizen” as consumer Abstract: The present article intends to emphasize the pragmatic traits present in the High school reform and its attempt to develop a kind of training that includes more of the students interests and life projects. We defend that this reform aims to meet typical demands of the citizen as a consumer, as characterized by the sociologist Wolfgang Streeck. The new High school may be seen as an attempt to make education more attractive in a society guided by the logic of consumption. We discuss the risks of thinking education from the perspective of pragmatism and personal investment, about the pragmatic and non-historical character of an education guided by the competence development, as well as about the necessity of forming responsible people and committed with the world. Nouvel Enseignement Secondaire et le « citoyen » en tant que consommateur Résumé: Cet article met en évidence les aspects pratiques de la réforme de l'enseignement secondaire et son objectif de fournir une formation qui tienne davantage compte des intérêts et des projets de vie des élèves. Nous soutenons que cette réforme cherche à répondre aux attentes communes du citoyen en tant que consommateur, telles qu'identifiées par le sociologue Wolfgang Streeck. Le nouvel enseignement secondaire peut être considéré comme une tentative de rendre l'éducation plus attrayante dans une société guidée par la logique de la consommation. Nous abordons les risques associés à la perception utilitaire de l'éducation et de l'investissement personnel, ainsi que le caractère pragmatique et sans référence historique d'une éducation centrée sur le développement des compétences. Nous soulignons également l'importance de former des individus responsables et engagés dans le monde. Mots-clés: Éducation; Réforme; Citoyenneté; Consommateur.
