On the Gender Role of Mosuo Matriarchal Society
Abstract
Zhou Hua, who according to scholars of ethnographic research, to explore the relations between the sexes Mosuo matriarchal society, and thus a comparative analysis of the Moso matrilineal society and the common parent of the different gender roles in society, with. Mosuo people found the complementary relationship between gender equality, enough to span the Western patriarchal inequality issues; other evidence of a number of cross-cultural study of gender in order to emphasize the inevitability of the existence of biological sex differences and gender role differences need. Exploration results, the expectations of human society: to abandon the differences between people, respect for individual differences in the value of talent to build a colorful, continue to create development, highly civilized society. According to the ethnographies of Mr. Zhou Hua Shang and other scholars, here I investigate the relations between both sexes in the matriarchal society in Mosuo and furthermore compare and analyze the differences and similarities of gender roles in ordinary patriarchal society and in the Mosuo matriarchal society . I therefore found that the complementary nature between the two sexes of Mosuo people might well bridge the inequality and superiority of men over to women in western society. Also, I address on the necessity and the essentiality of the biological distinctions and the gender role differences by providing several evidences from various cultures. The conclusion of my research lies on the expectation of building a creative and civilized society to be one that discards the discrimination made by men and respects all the differently gifted individuals
