critical thinking and examining reasons we give for what we believe critical thinking as rational thinking “irrational” as beliefs and actions that are illogical taking the goals of critical thinking more seriously thinking and behaving and considering them in a rational manner differentiating the rational from the irrational tendency of jokes to operate within ‐ general content or framework of absurdity rationality and acting prudentially beliefs having practical consequences and having good reasons for what we believe desire to appear intelligent to others
