Abstract

This article is part of my doctoral research in discuss I the complexity of putting myself in the Other's shoes in order to understand him. It shows the traditional community of Sambaíba, in Caetité-BA, it know how and problematizes the construction of changing and / or fragmented identities based on the interpretation of symbolic elements that are presents in the participants' narratives and face-body expressions. An ethnography about / with the Other in my experience with the body. I've been thinking and observing the community and, simultaneously, being thought and observed by people of African descent is the construction of an episteme for academic and human life.
