This research addresses the challenge of attempting to understand how traditional tea brewing techniques of Bashu and Japanese cultures complement modern socio-economic strategies. The purpose of the research is to deepen the understanding of how tea traditions, religion, and philosophy relate to one another, and how they change as they travel within global contexts, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and Wakayama, a cross-cultural hub. A qualitative methodology is used for the study and it is based on visual (...) and textual analysis from reputable sources like JETRO and JNTO to guarantee authenticity and relevance. It is shown that Bashu and Japanese tea traditions contain deep spiritual and philosophical values and have adapted to current worldwide trends while Wakayama plays a central role in the exchange of cultural and philosophical heritage. This study highlights the tea traditions as instruments that can enhance mutual understanding and cultural continuity and have implications for the Digital Humanities for the digital preservation of cultural heritage. Practice recommendations include using technology to document and promote these rich traditions worldwide and to promote cross-cultural dialogue with shared programs. However, the study relies upon secondary data, and additional field research is required to further enrich the analysis. As a result, this research sheds new light on cultural preservation and innovation, and global cooperation and resilience through tea traditions. (shrink)

Although only one aspect of Gotthold Ephraim Lessing's diverse oeuvre, his religious thought had a significant influence on thinkers such as Kant, Hegel, Kierkegaard, and present-day liberal Protestant theologians. His thought is particularly difficult to assess, however, because it is found largely in a series of essays, reviews, critical studies, polemical writings, and commentary on theological texts. Beyond these, his correspondence, and a few fragmentary essays unpublished during his lifetime, we have his famous drama of religious toleration, Nathan the Wise, (...) and his philosophical-historical sketch, The Education of the Human Race. In these scattered texts, Lessing challenged the full range of theological views in the Enlightenment, from Protestant orthodoxy, with its belief in Biblical inerrancy, to a radical naturalism, which rejected both the concept of a divine revelation and the historically based claims of Christianity to be one, as well as virtually everything in between. Since he refused to identify himself with any of these parties, Lessing was an enigmatic figure, and a central question from his time to today is where he stood on the issue of the truth of the Christian religion. Now back in print, and with the addition of two supplementary essays, Henry E. Allison's book argues that, despite appearances, Lessing was not merely an eclectic thinker or intellectual provocateur, but a serious philosopher of religion, who combined a basically Spinozistic conception of God with a sophisticated pluralistic conception of religious truth inspired by Leibniz. The views of the philosophers and theologians diverge and disagree on the issues whether or not the objects of religious faith: the existence and essence of God, the immortality of the soul and similar content, as well as the extent to which the belief and assertion of the existence of those objects can be objects of philosophical knowledge. It can be stated that, in contrast to the teachings that reigned in minds from the XIII and the end of the XVIII (...) century, the 19th century gave birth to an almost immense number of "positions" to the above-mentioned issues, which did not go beyond the scope of their adoption in narrower circles of scientific schools. Philosophy and religion were the two important sources of knowledge for medieval Arab Muslim polymaths. Owing to the difference between the nature of philosophy and religion, the interplay between philosophy and religion often takes the form of conflict in medieval Muslim thought as exemplified by the Al-Ghazali versus Averroes (Ibn Rusd) polemic. Unlike the Al-Ghazali versus Averroes (Ibn Rushd) polemic, the interplay between philosophy and religion in the political philosophy of Abu (...) Nasr Alfarabi takes the form of harmonious co-existence. Although, for Alfarabi, religion is an inferior form of knowledge as compared to philosophy, the present article will show that philosophy and religion play equally significant roles in Alfarabi’s virtuous city and that in the absence of either philosophy or religion, the political system proposed by Alfarabi cannot exist. The present article is trying to study the alliance of religion and philosophy, from Farabi's view, by citing to his works. In this regard, first, we analyzed the historical reasons for the need for philosophy, then we will introduce the Farabi's purposes for constitution of this alliance, through which the necessity of this alliance becomes clear. The main claim of the article is that Farabi correlates the two through two different ways. The first depends upon the historical (...) procedure of the emergence of the language. Accordingly, philosophy would be chronologically prior to religion. And in the second way, he explains the relation between the two, by considering their methodological distinctions, toward pedagogy.
