Abstract

Ideas of religion are the principal subject of this work. It is perhaps not commonly enough realized that important consequences follow from ideas or definitions of religion. What religion is, or what it consists in, is a question that concerns everyone, believer and unbeliever alike. That man is the only religious animal, few if any would deny. That every human is religious, many but not all would deny. If the latter were true, then no human is without some religion. It all depends on one's idea of religion.
