Paul Gastwirth seems to me generally correct concerning our concepts of God . But there are at least two points at which he needs to take his analysis further if he is to help us to think through the topic. In the first place, he must do more than invoke the Wittgensteinian image of family resemblances if he is to exorcise the quest for defining characteristics. And, in the second place, he needs to consider in some detail the use of ‘God’ as a name
