Abstract

This interview was planned to appear in one of the next issues of the Newsletter Philosophy and Soft Computing. As all the other interviews in this Newsletter it was arranged as an e-mail-interview. When the edition of the Newslet- ter stopped in the beginning of the year 2013 to give way to the advent of this new journal it was the intention to publish this interview with Professor Zadeh in the first issue. Perhaps there would have been not enough time to finish this interview via e-mail before this issue appeared but I had the opportunity to travel to Berkeley, CA, in March and April 2013 and Professor Zadeh agreed to finish this interview at the morning of March 29 in his apartment in Berkeley. Therefore the first parts of this interview are texts that have been communicated via e-mail and the second part is a transcription of our recorded spoken word. This printed version of the interview is authorized to be published in this journal by Professor L. A. Zadeh.
