Abstract

The appeal for a new way of thinking about business and organization has a solid basis in unresolved socioeconomic problems and appearance of new ones. These are often a side effect of business models, repeatedly blamed for dehumanizing our institutional environment. The primary level of disappointment comes from a global perspective of detrimental processes and a common perception of a massive technocracy; there is the overpowering role of allegedly scientific methods that rule modern management or even a growing gap between the income of top management and line workers. Corporations have acquired a bad name as a result of their way of operating, mostly in the third-world countries. A corporation in its worst could be compared to a pathological personality that has a destructive influence on both its members and its clients. Corporations are often seen as ever power-gaining monsters that endanger the world democratic system through the acquisition of unlimited control and mafia-like praxis.
