Abstract
Under the great situation of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution and world revolution, the Capital May 16 Red Guard Corps triumphantly held its First National Congress from June 30 to July 1, 1967, at Beijing Foreign Language Institute. Holding high the great banner of Mao Zedong Thought and stressing proletarian politics, delegates conducted full discussions and assessments on the current situation and a whole series of important issues. This National Congress victoriously and successfully concluded on the high note of effectively studying Chairman Mao's works, and the editorial in the eleventh issue of the Red Flag [stated]: "Mao Zedong Thought has illuminated our Party's path to victory." The celebration culminated with cheers for the forty-first birthday of the great, glorious, and correct Communist Party of China.
