Abstract

This chapter examines acts of aggression involving domestic abuse of female spouses and the rape of women. The findings reveal that women account for a great amount of aggressive behaviours in spousal abuse, just as they had in child physical abuse cases. Women commit as many spousal murders as men. However, in the area of common marital aggression, those directed by the husbands against their wives usually have move severe consequences. This chapter proposes several strategies for preventing rape and wife abuse.
