Abstract

The paper first explores the ways the N1 TrV N2 to V N3 construction in English can be interpreted functionally: as a monotransitive, ditransitive and complex-transitive one. Then it moves on to show how such an analysis can be further refined by checking the verb groups appearing in this construction against a set of relevant criteria
