Abstract
CARL MATHESON is Professor in, and Head of, the Department of Philosophy at the University of Manitoba. He has worked in the history and philosophy of science. He currently works mainly in metaphysics and aesthetics. This is the third paper he has published with Ben Caplan in the British Journal of Aesthetics.BEN CAPLAN is Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at The Ohio State University. He has worked in the philosophy of language and the history of analytic philosophy. He currently works mainly in metaphysics. This is the third paper he has published with Carl Matheson in the British Journal of Aesthetics.ALEXANDER RUEGER teaches philosophy at the University of Alberta. He has published widely in the philosophy of science as well as a few papers on eighteenth-century aesthetics. More recently his research has focused on Kant's theory of taste and its eighteenth-century background.RAFAEL DE CLERCQ works at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven as a Postdoctoral Fellow of the Fund for Scientific Research – Flanders. His research interests are in aesthetics (principally aesthetic properties) and metaphysics.
