Abstract
This collection of essays, most of which have been published before, was written by Fr. White over the past twenty years. The title of the book is rather felicitously chosen, for the great majority of the essays are concerned with the problem of the nature and existence of God. They fall into three main groups: theology in general, particular theological problems and “essays of an eirenic stamp”. Fr. White is one of the leading British Neo–Thomists and these essays clearly show his skill and insight in the interpretation of St. Thomas.
