Abstract
In this study, five virtual trials have been conducted on a single cavity of hard disk frame incorporated with a multiple gates under varies of runner diameter modification. Grow from and weld line results were recorded in relation to a balanced of melt filling distribution. In the grow from analysis, the difference percentage between maximum and minimum of melt filling distribution for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th trials was found to be 60, 38.69, 28, 22.30, and 7.35%, respectively. In the weld line analysis, the length of weld lines for the 1st trial to 5th trial was changed from 17.5 to 8.5 cm, respectively, where a reduction of weld line length reduced to 51.43%. Then, both results show that a balanced of grow from leads to a balanced of melt filling distribution and a reduction in the existing of weld line length on the product surface.
