Abstract

The article of analysis is the maintenance of diary of the modern German diplomat, accepting an Islam. Research aim: to defie, what role was played by a reflction about sense of life in the Moslem choice of European. Research results: a reflction about sense of life is basis of religious and confessional self-defiition of Hofmann. А reflction about sense of life consists of reflction about nature and essence of human creature, aims and values of human existence. Hofmann considers that an attempt to understand these questions does inevitable an address to philosophy and theology. Possibilities of philosophy to unriddle destiny of human creature very limit. The origin of the world, destiny of human creature, just device of life is in society. These questions decide only on the basis of religious Revelation.
