Globalization and the Evolving Modes of Christian Theology of Dialogue
Abstract
Process of globalization, religion plays a very important role. Religious influence individuals, groups, peoples, nations deep, because the core religious values directly touch the soul, master of human behavior. Strong on behalf of Western Christian culture, with colonialism activities around the globe. The Middle Ages when the Crusaders launched, suppress Christians thought, lead to a variety of offensive. 1962-1965 Second Vatican Council in the Catholic Church converted to comply with the previous model, Gu intention to open non-Christian religions, learning, for the transformation of social cooperation. Thirty years later, Vatican II theologians follow-depth study of the target model of dialogue, and develop sake, mutual benefit, to accept other modes, so that Christians increasingly open, inclusive and accept differences. However, in the actual world, is having an impact on the dialogue theory, is also worth considering. Perhaps the reality of appraisal theory, but the Catholic faith dialogue will never go back. Hope that this good will and determination can infect other religions. In particular Islam, for a total of dialogue and efforts to make globalization more successful implementation. Christianity was famous for its rigid, absolute claim, which caused the Crusades in the Middle Ages. However the dialectical theology of excluding the value of non-Christian religions was changed to dialogical theology by Vatican 11 . Since then, theologians have developed different theories and modes to promote dialogue between Christians and non-Christians. The modes are the fulfillment model, the mutuality model and the acceptance model. However, the theories do not necessarily correspond to reality. So, the question remains how dialogical theology can achieve consensus among different world religions, specially with the Moslems. Whether it is possible to have these two big religions engaged in real dialogue is a challenge for all who are concerned with the subject
