Heading: Seeking for the Engaged Buddhists True-With Examples of Zhangtaiyan, Taixu and Ouyangjingwu's Views

Abstract

Buddhist revival movement in modern times, from the perspective of accession to the WTO to play attention to rational study of Buddhism and Buddhist scholars both inside and outside, look at the relationship between Buddhism and the philosophy. Articles by comparing ZHANG, Void, a famous scholar Ouyang not even the same question three different views, that represents the philosophy of secular rationality, rationality and Buddhism, the universe of nature, society and life, though all the way to reasoning, but there are still different. More importantly, Buddhist rationality and change life, change the social practice and experience necessarily related. Ouyang actually no warning, Buddhism Buddhist rational person to learn to criticize their own narrow-minded dedication conscious, rational philosophy, philosophers are likely to cause too much self-confidence, and give up their criticism of the limitations of the conscious, refused to understand others. What is there to play the meaning of truth? This issue is still not completely resolved. Modem Chinese engaged Buddhists emphasized particularly on the reason, and this emphasis is related with modem Chinese scholars 'arguments for the relationship between Buddha Doctrine and philosophy. The author would try to analyze three famous scholars' difference points on this same question and indicate that philosophy as a secularized reason also makes use of the reasoning way to cognize the world and life as Tathata , but philosophical way is still different from Buddhist way. And, It is highly significant that Buddhist reason in Tathata must connect with Buddhist practice. Mr. OuYanjingwu warned that philosophy may bring people egregious self-assured and Narrow-minded, But Tathata teaches people to reflect on their self-criticism and self-improvement. What is the real Buddhist engaged true? That is still a pending question
