Abstract

"Father of the army for" Mulan theme, is with the "female self-reliance", "gender equality" and the like associated topics, will portray Mulan "is full of masculinity," the heroine image was originally the title story of the ancient Oriental Mulan meaning inherent in the cultural history of Chinese women will undoubtedly have a positive value and positive meaning. At the same time, use the "disguised as a man" the ideal expression of female Magnolia text, after all, but it is a climb through the patriarchal discourse to seek the dislocation of women's rights discourse, but also the limitations of their destiny. Mulan story of the Oriental theme by Western culture, entertainment packaging, the Mulan deal with both worldly and become a naughty lovely girl, with a strong flavor of the various secular popular fun funny plot. And was a great success, it is indeed interesting cross-cultural communication means and worthy of our consideration of the phenomenon. The image of Chinese culture has been regarded as feminine m the West on the basis of gender criticism. To some degree, the nature of Chinese traditional culture is with the tendency of feminine, but it does not mean that the culture is lack of masculinity disposition . From study the different interpretations on Hua Mulan's legend in the East and the West, the different discourses has been studied in this paper to grasp the nature and the image of Chinese culture
