Abstract

The Sanctuary of Kafizin : New Perspectives The Nymphaeum of Kafizin, a sanctuary located on the summit of a hill of central Cyprus, produced remarkable inscriptions first gathered and published by T. B. Mitford. A close study of the texts shows that several conclusions firmly settled by Mitford, the dating in particular, must be reconsidered. This paper offers the opportunity to bring to light the historical significance of the numerous offerings dedicated to the local Nymph.
