Abstract

Human resource management refers to the practices utilized to manage the people who do the work of organizations. This chapter proposes that there are a number of ways of conceptualizing HRM, including SHRM, humanistic management, and personalistic management. These three perspectives are based on different ontologies with varied assumptions about the people engaged in the work of organizations.
