Konstantin Leontiev: Aesthetics of Religious Inspiration and Mystery of the National Spirit

Abstract

The article is devoted to literary and philosophical heritage of the Russian thinker K. N. Leontiev. The authors analyze the artistic, journalistic, philosophical texts, and letters by Leontiev, the unity of his religious, aesthetic and socio- philosophical ideas is revealed. Genre extensive coverage of works contributes to the creation of the original hermeneutic interpretation of the material. Special attention is paid to the problem of the relationship between national identity and religiosity of national self-consciousness. The key role of the aesthetic element which is revealed in the variety of everyday forms connecting the most diverse aspects of people's life is emphasized.
