Abstract

The results of the sociological survey «Today’s global challenges in the views of Kropivnistskiy’s population», which was held 5-6 November 2016 by the author of the article, has been analyzed. It has been found that the general trend is: majority of the respondents support optimal global environmental activities, which do not require financing from the population and the lack of respondents support those actions that require such funding. This gives grounds to assume that if effective environmental activities didn’t withdraw more than UAH 5 from the income of every working person working, and didn’t call for the financial expenditures of the population, it would also be supported by the majority of respondents. Thus, society has a positive attitude to the idea of global climate issues overcoming by means of the rich stratum of the population, which is seen to be quite logical from the standpoint of social justice. Therefore, if the most affluent members of society finance suggested environmental activities, the majority of respondents hypothetically will support the increase of global environmental activities. It has been found that the majority of respondents agree with the fact that the basic idea of a global population policy is the reduction of the birth rate in crowded areas, social standards should be improved in the underdeveloped countries, and that education system is responsible for population’s attitude to the childbearing policy. This shows the understanding by the majority of respondents, which of the variants of the world population policy is the most appropriate, effective and necessary and allows paving the way for the promotion of Ukraine’s relevant suggestions at the international level. Meanwhile, 45% of respondents don’t agree with the necessity to raise the social standards in developing countries. This can be considered as an expression of indifference, lack of knowledge about the features of the world demographic situation. Practical activities have to be aimed at its humanization, overcoming the misunderstanding, increasing the effectiveness of administrative and socio-educational methods of fertility problems’ solving. This will prove that State promotes the relevant further development of the globalist consciousness of its population. It has been concluded that main areas of the formation of the respondents’ attitude to the specific problems of the global environment should include: to raise public awareness about the objective of global environmental challenges and their links with other global threats; to overcome radicalism towards the restrictions of toxic pollutants; to restore public trust to the authorities, through the equitable redistribution of national wealth in favor of the majority of citizens; to form the public understanding of the urgent need of the global environmental protection activities’ efficiency improvement.
